Good Morning AZ! Yesterday I completed the repairs on the BMR control arms repairs. Cleaned up all residual grease, dirty and grime then pre-greasing and pressing all 8 new bushings in place and installed. Pics + My boyz Alcohol burning Race BANCHEE! Runs 7.2 1/8th mile as it stands but plans on upping the CC to a Big Block stroker kit.

Signing out...for a while. Car went POOF up in smoke last night at the track. Seems like a head gasket gave out, timing jumped a tooth and floated a valve or oil gear gave out. That's all I can diagnose as of now till I get teh car back home or at a shop. Lots of oil/rad mix oozing out of the throttle body and other places and found metal shavings in throttle body/Intake.
As you can imagine, I am not happy or talkative more then I already explained. Today, just a day off from everything and tomorrow I will figure it out and go from there. But pretty much nothing to report of post for a while until I have progress or updated news.

Really sorry to hear that, Josh. I know that's your new baby and you have other transportation but after the effort/money you've put in, I can actually read the heartbreak in your post. I won't even bust your balls for a few months, if you can believe that.
You'll be back, bigger and badder than before...the "things went boom" is something I've noticed is a part of all the big impressive high HP build stories. Keep your head up.

Thanks Fellas...as always. Still taking my time but always looking toward some research and options. Did some small talk with Collin at RACING INTEGRATION...some ppl here may know him locally from some of the fastest Honda/Acura. Next with his dark blue BUILT Lincoln Navigator motor powered twin turbo fox body Mustang he use to trailer to USF...and currently running a 10.4sec Mustang 5.0 Coyote (Like mine but charcoal grey)...Dude is str8 fresh! And also talked to BBR ~ Blow By Racing in Boca Raton Fl. Jeremy u may have heard of em So, the faith, good spirits and life goes on...

Keeping you guys "UPDATED" with some findings and reading material I just opened @ SVTP
I first want to make clear before starting or opening this discussion. This is NOT a "Finger Pointing" "Blame Game" or "BASH" thread! I will ask for your post to be deleted if I feel its out of content or demeaning to that nature. I chose the verbiage of the title for, "Hook, Line & Sinker" method to attract the most eyes, experience, knowledgeable feedback from those who may have experienced such a problem or if you are also a experienced Tuner/Builder/Racer/Fabricator of nature. Now that this is out of the way....
My car:
2012 Mustang GT 5.0 Coyote 6 speed, LSD, 3.73
FULL "BOLT-ON BUILD!" ... Boss 302 Manifold, BBK TB, JBA Titanium Headers, JBA X pipe (no cats), MAGNAFLOW "Street" Exhaust, JLT CF CAI, Moroso Radiator Tank, LU47's injectors, E85 Tuned via AED/Shaun, Suspension, Wheels/Tires...etc
This past Saturday night I was at Showtime Drag Strip running the 1/8mi getting some seat time working on my 60ft. (as I have been for several weeks since complete...) Approx 4th run I take off (like a bat outta hell! I felt it like no other run!!! ...as they do before they GO!) Top of 2nd gear to 3rd as I remember, they car gave out. Not very loud of a noise but loss of power and EXTREME! cloud of smoke from the exhaust, engine bay and filling the entire interior of the car as the car coasted under momentum across the line engine still on running at idle. It was all to fast for me to stop earlier and it was all so confusing and shocking but the time I pulled myself together I was passing the finish line to exit off to the right onto the grass just as I passed the 1 st exit return road. For maybe 2 seconds as I came to a safe stop, that is when I noticed the car was still under its own power but NOT running smooth. The engine was NOT noisy, clanking or banging around. The sound as best as I can describe it was as if 1 plug was pulled from each side...
After pulling the car off to a safe open area, friends and I looked everything over to see if there was any true obvious signs to what happen and how bad it was. Oil and Radiator fluid seem to be slashed everywhere but most noticeable it was oozing out of the intake through the JLT filter onto the chassis metal flat surface located just under the filter and filled that entire area with the infamous "Chocolate Milky" soot. After seeing that, I removed the entire CAI assemble down to the TB and it was still pouring out slowly from the TB lip from the intake. I then took a socket/racket to the crank bolt, engine seemed to turn fine with no noise, locking or anything abnormal to mention. Going back to the TB, I slightly opened the shutter/butterfly and there was a small metal shaving found...That was my night. I went out to hang out and watch the remaining races trying to just have a good time. There was nothing else I could do that late under the circumstances.
The car was then storaged in a locked shop of a friend who offered the shelter since he was off from work with family from out of town for 1 week. I returned Thurs. to pick the car up and trailer it directly to Colin @ RACING INTEGRATION (local well known SVTP Member). Upon arrival, Colin wasted no time since he also was o perplexed to why this "ALL MOTOR E85" car failed and failed in this nature. Colin pulled the covers, coil packs then the plugs. Starting from 5,6,7,8 (Driver side) and finding no issues he continued to the passenger side in 4,3,2,1 sequence finding the big "WHOA FACTOR" in the very last cylinder he checked, #1.
Besides everything I described with the best of my abilities and stating that only! to what happen with up to date to what I know and found out, maybe I can hear what someone has experienced or someone may know any factor that could have led up to this point. REMINDER: This pic shown is all we know as of yet. Colin will start tear down sometime this coming week Tues/Weds to find out and clues or the extent of the damage. At that point, I will also return to the thread keeping it updated of my findings. In conclusion, If I am not able to get a answer or assistance from this thread, someone else will definitely get some sort or extent of help as future/present reference.
Sequence of pics:
*** Please feel free to chime in with your questions, comments of concerns or experience. Please NO BS! or BASHING! Just open discussion if it can possibly lead to solving, pin pointing or theoretically speaking help. Since it can be 1 of many failed areas even down to 1 single part. *** AED feel free to chime in also. :coolman: Thanks to all...

"Definitely rod came thru the bottom. You can see the ring which came up when forced from the bottom. Broken rod is the definite cause of the piston.
Why did the rod break? Doesn't look over revved. The tensile strength is compromised over revving and the piston breaks at the top of the cylinder on the exhaust stroke. Then the valves and piston show damage from collision. Don't see that here. Not completely impossible, but unlikely because of other evidence. Seriously doubt it was cylinder pressure that bent/broke a rod. Just not enough power. Hydraulic lock could have definitely bent the rod. An injector could have caused that, which could have lifted the head and let the coolant in. Or a coolant leak could have been the main cause. That will be easier to tell when the injectors are flowed. Rod bends at top dead center and heads back down. With a bent rod, its length is now shorter. Too short to clear the crank counter weight at bottom dead center. Crank smacks the the underside of the piston at the wrist pin and breaks rod. That's why the piston is there, and not at the very bottom of the bore. Breaks at bottom, rod smashes thru it, moves it up a bit.
There is enough remaining piston to see if it hit the crank. If the rod bent the big side will not spin free on the crank likely. Bent rods don't bend one way. They also like to bend and bind the bearing. This may have happened so fast there is no discoloration from heat or lack of oil. But might see some deformation in the bearing. Or, remaining rod in the pan might be obviously bent. So some other stuff to look for to confirm a bent rod is why it broke. Or tell us it wasn't bent.
So it doesn't look like it leaned out or detonated. Detonation could have lifted the head and started the chain reaction, but heads show no sign and neither does the piston. Still like to see the plugs, but sure they look fine. Some of the other stuff I mentioned is still possible, but hard to tell from here and seem very unlikely. But looks like a mechanical issue and not tune related. Sorry about your luck. Seems to to be one of those "Well shit" moments that couldn't be predicted."
Since tear down began, I decided to make some upgrades along the way...which you guys already know me Ditched the BOSS 302 Intake Manifold, BBK 85mm Throttle Body and the CF JLT Cold Air Intake and went with the MONSTER set up with the FORD RACING COBRA JET Intake Manifold, SUPER Cobra Jet single mono-blade oval Throttle Body and (being made/custom made) REV AUTO 5in straight through Cold Air Intake match the SCJ TB inlet. And last, the McLeod box is a durable SS Clutch line vs the OEM plastic line that flexes under pressure making a sloppy clutch engagement and feel. The SS line will be a much improved addition to the clutch feel and performance.
