painting a car another oem color is not custom. thats also imitating something else

 

Painting a Honda car a Subaru OEM color counts as custom in my book. It's not like he's repainting WDP into NBP.

 

this paint looks good, is there any updates of walkers car? i gotta hit him up and check this out in person!

 

He said the paint itself cost $500, the zerelic pearl is a more refined/silky "sharpe" pearl (cost him extra $80 a qt)

As far as coping goes, theres only ONE 3gTL, actually only ONE TL in general thats "java" 1 CL, and 1 accord

vs 100's of NBP,WDP,SSM,ASM etc etc....

me and justin (and his paint guy) helped him out with this color, he thought about black with green pearl but thought that wouldnt look nice, I said black with gold pearl, justin suggested black with red pearl, and his paint guy said to use zerelic pearl, so he went with black with GOLD pearl and a "hint" of red pearl.

He just txted me and said he's finished the car, also said that his roof is still OEM java black from when he painted it before, he'll get compared shots vs his roof (OEM java) and HIS custom pearl.


Since this is a custom made pearl he came up with Jalava black LOL! (java and lava together)

 

someone posted pics on of a TL in hawaii, black, base tail lights, blacked out side markers (front and rear ) riding on HRE with a ton of camber in the rear. is that walker?

 

although LIPPSTUH made it "popular" as of lately, this color has been long done before. Shouts out to CLpower who inspired H20-pr00f to be the FIRST to get this color EVER on Azine.

ya i love java black pearl. Thats the color of my 04 wrx wagon it looks so good when its bright out.

 

After see this car in person yesterday all i can say is wow. It looks way better than the pics. The red and gold flakes really make this car shine out. I owned a 04 java black suby and the color now is nothing like the suby java black.

i had everything loaded to take pics and asked the g/f to grab it on the way out since i was loading the car and she forgot about it. I didnt realize she forgot to get the camera till i got to the meet up spot. Ill see if i can meet up again and grab some photos.

yup, he said at wal mart. he said he was gonna re-clear the doors anyway, so. just gotta wet sand a buff the orange peel.

Interesting, but yeah, it looks really brown! Damn! What a cowardly act to key someones car! I would love to catch someone doing that to my car! But back to the paint job it ok, colorsanding will improve the look. I'll just stick to my WDP!

not really feeling that color on a TL i think it looks better on lippstuhs car.

 

definitly needs to be wetsanded and polished...i also think he should have kept the lower part of the front a-spec lip black, it just doesnt look right all one color ... just my props for trying something new though
