Thanks for this thread! You inspired me to order basically all the same LED's, except I went with 5k white and the angled 6 light ones for the map/vanity. Was going to go with the 105 lm plate lights, but decided I didn't want passenger jets seeing my plate from 30,000'.

Only real difference is that I went with this for the trunk:

http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...08401-1-2.html

I figured 35 lm would be a little brighter for the trunk, which is good.

Nice R1 too. Had my buddy's up to 181 mph indicated; was still doing an honest 170-175. What a rush; I miss sportbikes.

Sweet deal man.. Glad i could help. I will eventually get the right one for the trunk, i just happen to order too many of the other kind so i just put it in there. I will be installing all of the other lighting stuff here shortly..i cant wait.

Ooo I thought their 3k h8 hid fog kits were on back order...be sure to post pics after you get them installed. I've been seriously considering that kit instead of the 6k kit that most people have.

My ZKW-R lenses are in the mail. I've been doing a lot of research. I don't think you rotate them to focus them. I believe bending the cutoff shield is how you fine-tune the beams.

Btw, nice to see another former STi owner on here.

those things suck...on both lights you have to pry in between the metal plate and the plastic cover on the inside towards the center of the car..use a small screwdriver and push very lightly in between the two and once there is a gap just pull hard on it. It will come off but if you replaced the trunk bulb the cover is the same..The little plastic tab breaks easily so be careful. I broke my drivers side but super glued it back in place..hope that helps.

i PM'ed AckTL05 about the ZKWr's and he said just put it in the way it is and try a spacer of cardboard like a cereal box to space it out to get the razor sharp cutoff..

oh ya about the STI, i regret it everyday.. i sold it to get a Bike and then sold the bike and got the Acura because i was changing duty stations from kentucky to alabama.. I wanted something nice but wish i could have found the KBP in 6 speed..lol

See that's what I thought about the ZKW-R's too, but several people on the hid planet forums said they don't even need a spacer. Only the real ZKW's do. And they said the spacer's purpose is to hold the lens in place more securely.

I sent JnC a PM about it. Waiting for his reply...

Awesome. Can't wait to see the pics. Did you do the independent fog DIY that uses the stock fog switch?

Ok, so i finished my HID fog light install...notice the DRL's on, the key is just in the ignition..Tell me what you think!!

I am wondering wether or not i should take out the little metal shroud inside the foglight housing.. it covers up the bulb a bit...any thoughts?

Might be a dumb question, but on their web site when it says

$7.99
V-LEDS Part ID: 194_5_SMT_W_6K

# In Package: 1 Pair

That means you get 2 lights (a pair) for $7.99.......not $7.99 each?

You get 2 bulbs (1 pair) for said price, which is $7.99 in this case.

Not $7.99 each bulb =P

No problem

Just ordered those bulbs (194_5_SMT_W_6) myself, actually =)

Ordered 2 pairs (4 bulbs); 2 bulbs for the doors, and 2 bulbs for the back seat overhead lights.

Should be here (Canada) in 3 days max.

So excited =P

Looks great! It's funny how they look blue in the housing, but the beam pattern is very yellow...does it look like that in person or is it just the camera? Are the fogs bright enough to drive with if you had to?

I know i thought the same thing.. But they are very yellow in person. the camera actually took an exact replica of what they look like. not sure if i can drive with them at night with just the foglights. Ill try it out in a few min.

Oh and im glad i could help other people with deciding on what lights to use. I also said the same thing about the reverse lights....$80 Yikes!!

These are the ones I have now:

http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/B...35716-1-2.html

Not really impressed with them. Might upgrade to these, but the price is still pretty steep in my opinion:

OH and FYI for anyone that does the independent Switch mod for their Fogs, the foglight light on the dashboard will no longer light up no matter what setting the headlights are in!

Off topic, but i just ordered some Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus in 255/40/ZR17, got them cheaper than anywhere else by going on www.discounttiredirect.com. Contact this guy and tell him Chris Sylvestre sent you. He can get you almost any tire cheaper than anywhere else..

Yes they are, just pop out the old one and pop in the new one.. do verify they turn on before putting any cover back on, because the polarity does matter, but its real easy, if it doesnt work one way just flip it around and it should work..

Also, I had problems at first when I was reinstalling the housing from the outside with the light harness attached...I re-installed the leds lights by taking off the trunk liner...I popped the light housing into place from the outside and from the inside of the trunk I clipped the led and harness into the housing...worked perfect.
