Gun Metal Emblems

So I decided to go with gun metal/graphite instead of the black chrome. Mostly was because HeelToe does not offer the type-s symbol in black chrome so didn't want to have that being different. Hope you guys like, not sure if you can tell from the picture but matches the taillights and license plate holder pretty well for the type-s.

Here's a stock photo for a resemblance of what it looked like before,

The "A" complete,

The finished product,

I also painted the strip above the license plate.

Yeah I was really tempted to not put the TL and Type-s back on but I already had them painted since I bought new emblems to do it so the glue is fresh. Figured ill put this back on since its complete and not hard to remove and if I get tired of it ill just pop it off. I am happy I did put them back on though.

Thanks guys I will let you all know how it holds up tomorrow after washing the car. Would rather let it sit without washing a few days but I plan on going to a meet in Virginia Beach so want it nice and clean.

I'd have swapped you the chrome strip for one of those base ones for you to paint instead. I want that chrome strip~~

Looks great, I didn't even know heeltoe was selling black chrome emblems. I just ordered a set since my front emblem that I painted black was constantly chipping from rocks. Hopefully these black chrome ones hold up better. This will be my first mod in over a year I think lol

nicely done, adds a good level of contrast from the WDP than the stock emblems. I also like that you painted the bar above the lic plate. my ? is did u paint your front grill this color as well, because if you didn't then I think that maybe you should!

only thing I'd change would be to remove the "TL" but leave the "Type S"

All I have done so far in the front grille is plastidiped. I plan on getting the chrome painted to WDP and doing mmade's DIY for the floating "A". When I do that I will most likely also paint the "A" in front gunmetal to give it a ghostly float in the grille. I will add those pictures when I get that done, although I am on a training trip right now so not by my car for the time and with christmas and all coming up hoping to do it soon but not sure when yet.

I thought about removing the TL and I like how it looks, but every time I see just the Type-S with no TL I always feel like there should be more and the badge is just randomly there and out of place. That's just my opinion. I did remove the ACURA though because that is just unnecessary.

Yeah, that's actually one of the things I like about it. Most people don't realize it as it doesn't STICK out, it just sits clean but if you know how it usually looks you can usually see the difference. It just matches the frame around the license plate and rims much better then the random chrome on the car.

^ well after reading ur plans for the front then I retract my previous statement...

the floating gunmetal "A" with a WDP trim will look damn sexy!

keep up the good work.

Thanks, the only thing I can think of would be the stock type-s bar you can always buy. Its a little darker chrome but it looks more like chrome then the base's bar.

The chrome bar I believe you are reffereing to, come's complete with the license plate frame and the reverse lights for the TL-S. I wanted the same as you, but I had to buy the whole part as they do not sell the bar alone!!

Wish I knew, I'm surprised they don't sell that separate. Maybe you can find one at a junk yard or someone parting out a damaged type-s in the black market. Just keep an eye open you never know. Wish I would have known people wanted that before I painted it, I would have traded someone before painting. Good luck!

*edit* Sorry meant to quote DecaFe1 not Ricky Pounds, thanks for the answer though.
