Anybody have pictures of the stockies painted white? Just kind of curious of what it looks like... I don't like the black, so I don't expect the white will do much for me either.

I'm planning on painting my stock rims a gloss black in a few weeks and I just wanted all the details on the project.
I've read the DIYS, but was wondering some questions from all of the people who have done it.
So you have to rough up all the parts of the rim including the back to make the paint stick? And do you have to apply a primer or is their a better way to do it?
Also, when spraying one side of the rim, do you flip it over and spray the other side at the same time, or do you have to wait for the first side to dry to flip it?
Sorry for all the questions, I just figured if i'm going to do this, I want to do it right and know everything.

I just sanded down all the wheels and started painting. I used Gloss Black Engine Enamel on my wheels. Holds up strong and hasnt chipped so far. I suppose adding primer would help hold up. I sprayed the front side of the rims first. Waited for all of them to dry(i put 3coats on each rim). Then i got like industrial sized parchment paper, put that on the ground and laid the wheels on top of that to paint the back. Make sure if you do it, you do it in a garage so nothing will fly in and land on your wheel.

How long do you wait between coats?

Forgive me for posting a link, but I hadn't seen this color combo before.

Not something I would do if I had a MRP, but it doesn't look too bad

i know i said i wouldn't wanna copy but getting the wheels powder coated black with 2 stage clear on them for 200 dollars. Also whats good about this is if i don t like it he will repaint them to factory color for free. Its all done by a machine that strips it back to bare and prime paint clear and clear!

I didnt tape off any part of the rims. I just put a whole bunch of notecards inbetween the rim and the tires so i dont get paint on the tires.
I waited like 15-20mins between each coat

red pinstripe you could buy anywhere like advaced ...just make sure the edge of the wheel is clean and go around the edge of the wheel with the pinstripe..ive done this with several other wheels i had and it looked real good and held up just fine

I'm lost..
I've been considering painting my stock 08 wheels white on my NBP. Never seen white rims on a black TL, so I thought I'd give it a go, though I'm not a big fan of the stock wheels for 08.
