Youll never see them again...i had my wheels powder coated black and they vanish in the wheel wells.

Even in this shot that is directed right at the wheel...you cant see any detail.

Unless you have your heart set on black id steer away from it.
Looks cool on race cars...but horrible to show off.

The reason I was parting it out because I was SUPPOSE to trade in for a NBP Acura RL 2005.....but I wasn't getting what i wanted for my trade so the deal went sour and decided to keep my car. all i wanted was 14500...but they wanted to give me 7g

$7gs for your TL ??? WtF ?? year & miles?

Anyways....powdercoating is used by staticly charging the paint particles, so they adhere to the surface... then baking it in an oven at like 400 degrees to melt the paint to the metal... pretty nifty process, less dangerous chemical emissions, and the unused "wasted" paint can be re-used....

$7k.....that's fookin ridunkulous! The Acura dealership here gave my wife $7500 for her 2001 Integra (auto LS) with hail damage and 80k miles!!! They sold it in a week for $11,500.

Gloss black would look good imo, but it will look better with a BBK peaking out from the darkness...

^ $100 per wheel seems reasonable man. They are powdercoating it right? It really isn't a simple job. If the shop has a good reputation, you won't regret it.

I don't for four hundred dollars I would just sell the RJs on the BM and see if you can get another set of wheels that match what you want, you might end up saving a few bucks.

But I'm sure you can find someone to do your wheels for less, some kid at my work offered to paint my wheels, he painted his cousins, I'm sure he wouldn't charge $100 a wheel.

Professional powder coating is a whole lot different than some kid with spray cans though.

100 per wheel is reasonable for high quality PC work.

Agreed. That's exactly what I was quoted to PC my stock rims (including any rim rash repair).

Yeah that's good for pro work, especially if it's you want some custom mixed color. Using a high quality, scratch resistant urethane 2k clear can be comparable though. But then again, the cost of just that material isn't cheap.
