Finally put on my eBay lip

Finally...after three months of just waiting to find time to put this on, it's done. You get what you pay for but it's not that bad. Definitely better then a naked bumper

No offense but that either looks ugly or incomplete.

Why not just to ASpec?

the thing is; this "lip kit" doesnt follow any of the TL's sharp lines.

that lip looks more wavy and round while the TL lines are more sharp!

in this case, i would have rawked the bare look over this.

i agree different, it's ok when painted and on a slammed car. (a NBP had it.) but you need painted and lowered to pull it off. you could prolly fiberglass over the openings and it would look alot better.

Not a fan either. Doesn't flow with the lines of the TL at all, I don't think anything can help it look better either IMO

I'm amazed on how there isn't a single, good looking, front lip for the 3G that doesn't ride half way up the bumper making it look like crap..I give you credit for trying something new. It's just sad

^ exactly, the A-spec front looks cheap riding up that high and even weirder on a lighter colored car.. I just wish there were more options to be different. I didn't even know this ebay lip existed.

lol...dayuuum. I did get what I paid for...

eh, I don't think it's that bad so I'll roll with it till it cracks and get a different set.

so all y'all have it naked or the a-spec?
I like the a-spec but everybody got them. It's kinda like why I never got a gtr, civic, integra when I was living in Japan. every mofo had them.
I donno though, I'll probably get the whole a-spec kit before I have the TL painted and shipped to my new duty station in Japan.

As far as I have seen, there is only one in the Kanto area

yeah my painting skills suck, haven't used a can in over ten yrs.

Yup, pretty much what I expected from an Ebay lip...... Doesn't fit the car and doesn't look good.

OP save your money for the real stuff. No one likes a car built completely from cheap Chinese stuff.

Yikes, that's no bueno if you ask me. As long as you like it that's all that matters though, but IMO it's A-Spec or nothing!

It takes time when modding your car. Use that ebay kit as a filler and get it scuffed up when you tinker with lowering your TL. My ebay kit was abused daily with driveways and speedbumps. Took me a couple years to change to the type S aspec.

The ebay lip isnt so bad, yes, it looks funny at certain angles and pretty ugly IMO on a completely stock TL. That's why it took me a few months to make the decision on getting a new $300 aspec lip(broke mine over winter hitting a muffler on the highway) or getting something different from everyone else in town(since TLs are popping up like crazy this year)

As you can see, I chose to take a chance with the ebay lip. 2 reasons, Never liked how the aspec sits higher than the skirts and I found out my passenger side skirt was actually trashed by that muffler too so I needed to repaint the new skirt that AckTL05 hooked me up with since it was a different color.

With no lip on the front at all, the aspec skirts hang way too low and makes the front end look like it's not even dropped.

This was my setup for a week, didn't last long with that Home depot garage liner on the bottom, was all tore up in less than a week.

The lip itself is pretty strong, hit plenty of crap on the road, scraping, bottoming out, still in one piece, unlike my old aspec.

I replaced the garage liner with a custom made splitter and yes, those side sills were custom made too out of pvc board, cheap, pretty light and strong and easy to work with. It's an alternative to wood trim/boards.

In the end, It's your car, do what you want not what others want. People forget the true meaning behind modding cars, it's about you and YOUR car and YOU can do whatever you want to it as long as YOU like it, no one else has to like it and it definitely does not have to look like anyone else's car unless you like to look like everyone else.

It doesn't look that bad, but it would definitely help if the flowed with the side of the car. It's that aspect that gives it such a negative.

Technically, the aspec lips for the 04-06 dont flow either since they sit an inch higher off the ground than the skirts, I've actually measured it before.

I can see in your avatar the aspec kit has a horizontal plane that goes from the front bumper, along the side skirts, and across the back. The difference is marginal at most. This ebay lip is like slapping together lincoln logs with jenga blocks, its almost Frankenstein.
