Finally pics of my car DETAILED and with kit and chrome wheels!!

Hey guys! I spent about 5 hours detailing my baby yesterday, and decided to finally post some pics with the window tint, A-Spec Body kit, and the chrome wheels. For those of you who are detailing buffs:
1) Clay bar - entire car
2) Meguiar's Show Glaze polish with Meguiar's Dual Action Polisher
3) Meguiar's NXT applied with DAP
Chrome polish, and Meguiar's Endurance High Gloss Tire gloss.
I detailed for about 10 years, and still love doing it! Leave some love if you enjoy!
P.S. There is nothing better than a freshly detailed BLACK car!

Did you just debadge your Acura emblem and that's it?
Anyway, great job on your car. Mine looked that good when I took delivery; not even 10 minutes later a biblical rain fell from the sky and totally ruined the detail. Anyway, like I said great job. Too bad it'll only last for about a day or two.

Thanks guys! Yes, I only debadged my Acura emblem off the back. I like it to say "TL" still, so people don't mistake it for a TSX or something!

That looks great, the picture however is a bit grainy, get a higher resolution camera (at least 3.3) and your car will look a lot better!!!

VERY NICE HOWEVER

Is that 35% tint? I just got mine done last week, looks as dark as yours.

I guess I got screwed on the 2 small back side windows, they didnt tint it fully, there is that line under the trim that did not get tinted, oh well...maybe can have that fixed in the spring.

Looks great! I'd also like to know about the chrome wheels, Did you get your wheels chromed, or did you buy them like that somewhere? I'd like to do the same with mine. Haven't had a chance to get it tinted yet...I've only had it a week+.

It is 20% tint in the back and 35% up front. I wish it was 20% all around though, despite the fact that it's illegal!

I got the chrome wheels on ebay. It was $500 and they send you the chrome wheels first in a nicely packaged box. Then you take your TL to your local tire shop, and have them mounted and balanced. Have them put the OEM wheels in the same box, and they already include UPS shipping labels in the boxes for return. You drop them off at UPS, and are done!

I think they take a $500 deposit on your credit card that they refund as soon as they get your wheels back. I LOVE the wheels, they are an AWESOME chrome job, and I would recommend them to anyone who wants the OEM chrome wheels. Here is the link to them on ebay:

Those are actually pictures of my car they have on their ebay page. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Though I've said it several times before, I willmention it again.

Your Dealer can get you Chromed wheels. They have always offered the Standard 17" wheels in a Chrome finish, but for 04 it wasnt in any official catalog. 1blkowl who lives out by me got his from the dealer and I think it cost him like 600 or 700 or something. And as tlzx9 stated, they get the originals back at that price.

Lindsay Acura here in Columbus, Ohio sends the wheels to CA to get them chromed. The price I was originally quoted was $1800 over the phone and they would give me $200 for my wheels. I went in and talked to the parts manager in person, and he came down to $890 + my wheels, which he said was the price they give to customers if they get them when they get the car. He originally quoted me $1200 + my wheels.

I use Griot's Garage Window Cleaner and their special window towels. They leave no residue, streaks, or anything! Just another product that helps make your life much easier! Using the right products is half the battle! Thanks fellas!

Clay bar

Never used one. Can you tell me when to use it and why? I have a 2005 4 day old black TL and I absolutly want it to look as nice as yours!
I typically use eagle wash and eagle nano technolgy wax.

After driving, cars get contaminents in the paint. They may be bugs, dirt, oxidation, etc and if you wax without removing these first, you will seal in the contaminents. The Clay Bar comes in a kit, which involves a bar of clay, and quik detailer. All you have to do is wash your car first to get all of the major dirt off, then spray the quik detailer liberally to give lubrication to the clay bar, then gently glide the clay bar over the surface of the paint. Do this over the entire car or the problem area that you want to treat. And vwalah, you have a clean paint service. NOW, you want to polish the paint. Polishing is a step most detailers leave out. What polishing does is it nourishes your paint with all of the natural oils that it needs to retain and revive it's original luster. After polishing, put on a good coat of wax, and you have a beautiful car. Obviously, I could write a lot more, but I don't want to bore you with silly details. I hope this helps.
