Finally making some progress with the TL...

Well contrary to belief I did not die.... I started a new job at Columbus Car Audio the biggest audio shop in ohio and have been working non stop since October of last year 60-75 hours a week. The money is great but its caused me time on my TL. It sat for about 5 months with a toasted clutch. I got the clutch done finally in march and then it sat with more problems (wheel bearing and brake MC) for another two months. In the mean time I have been stock piling car parts in my basement and storage unit.... well I finally said fuck it and dropped the car off to a buddy of mine that works at our east Columbus location to do all the wiring on my air ride. He has made a ton of progress and the air ride is now fully installed and functional. Couple small things still need done but its in there. I opted for Airrex struts and Accuair switchspeed management running off of dual viair 444c compressors. Its running at 200 psi and seems to be working like a champ. I am going to be doing audio later on this summer or in the fall so its just roughed in right now nothing pretty. Trying to decide whether to do a single 13w7 JL sub, two 10w7 or three 8w7 subs. Anywho heres some updated pictures of the ride let me know what you guys think. I'll be on here a lot more now that my schedule is freeing up a bit and my car is actually coming together.

ya once it gets done I plan on doing a proper shoot. lately its just been cell phone shots sent from him to me and a couple visit over to the shop. I am also having him put in a pioneer AVH4000NEX double din where the radio is below the Navi and then taking out the two flip up storage pockets and putting a water temp and voltage autometer 2-1/16" gauge there and under that a Dakota digi gauge for all my bag and tank pressures. He is going to use body filler and try to fill in those notches where the volume knob is around the radio too. I think its going to turn out killer. I can wait to use that apple carplay too once it drops here in a few weeks I have heard great things about these NEX models and the carplay.

Looks great!! If my situation was a little bit different I would have LOVED to and gone with air ride on my TL-S.

I cant wait to see how the whole install turns out.

with your speaker options.... Are you looking for full sounding audio or slamming bass... with those three options that's where you're at. They'll all sound very good, the W7 series is great. If you want a rich full sound, I'd go the 3 8's all day. With the 3 in a properly sized box, throw a port in it.. they'll slam still. I'd almost skip past the 10's. But if you wanna hit HARD its that 13 without a doubt

I want it to hit really hard which I know the 8's will do.... but I also listen to a lot of hip hop music and EDM music so I need to be able to hit those low notes to enjoy my music. I'm leaning towards just one 13w7. I think it will make me happy

EDM and hip hop I'd look more at the 13w7..... the 8s will end up producing a "flat" tone while reproducing very low frequency tones requiring significant excursion. Whereas the 13 will have the power and excursion to produce those tones properly. I listen to mostly heavy metal and hard rock. Quick response in a speaker is much more key without the need for it to produce the low low's or do so for longer periods of time. Mostly has a need for the quick clean punch an 8 delivers.

I'd say go for the 13, build a proper box and run a fair amount of power into it and let that thing slam!!

Ya I agree completely and am leaning towards that's 13w7 setup. I wil be pumping plenty of power to it with a JL 1200 slash v3 amp that thing is a monster. I'll be running a 300 slash 4 channel for the highs which I think im going to do Hertz Hi energy or Audison Voce components up front and a set of the coax in the rear. Plan on doing Hushmat on the front doors inside and outside door skin. get them things sealed up right. Hushmat on the rear deck and pillars and also the full trunk to keep that compressor noise down to a minimum although I know dual viair 444's are never going to be quiet I guess. I think i'm going to get the audio started pretty soon at least for the interior speakers. I plan to get pretty detailed with the sub enclosure so I don't know when that is going to happen but I want to fire it forward and do a slot ported enclosure with some plexi on the rear with maybe an Acura emblem sandblasted in with some lighting or something cool .

thanks for the compliments guys. I'm hoping to have my center console/dash done this week sometime. Redoing the whole radio area. Hydro dipping a few pieces at some point, have the Pioneer AVH4000NEX receiver going in that thing is so baller. Cant wait for CarPlay to come out too. Two or three Autometer cobalt gauges going in below the double din, and my Dakota digi gauge is going below those I think. Hope to be able to get the car outta the shop to get it aligned for ride height and get the camber dialed in and all that good stuff here in the next week or so. Its coming along...slowly. I just hope I can put more than 500 miles on it this year like I did last year
