A few pics of my new vinyl roof!

Well, here are the first pictures I've taken since doing my black vinyl roof. All in all, I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

Also, some people have said that you can't do the xm antenna in vinyl, and that you have to either paint it or buy a new one. I did mine in vinyl, and while it's not 100% perfect, you have to be pretty close to notice the flaws, which shouldn't really be a problem because it's in the middle of the roof. Here's a close-up for reference. I'll bet if I redid it, I could do a much better job.

Thanks for looking!

Can't wait to do this to my WDP. It looks great dude. I saw it on another WDP and the one thing that bothered me is that I could see white right at the back edge of the roof, where the sheetmetal turns down and the rear window is installed. I'm going to watch out for that when I do mine. I don't see any white there on yours.

LOL that was prob me, seeing as you're in Jersey. I need to redo it. I didn't take any of the rails off and I had a roof spoiler on at the time.

Yea, I was trying to be careful about that. All you need to do is cut it so you have a bit of extra (I did mine a little past the gap to the window, but could have used even a little bit more), then use a heat gun to make it flexible and bend the vinyl to go down into that crack. That part was pretty easy, you just have to be thinking about that before you start cutting :P.

Do it, I think it would look pretty sick. My buddy and I did his PMM a few days earlier and it came out nice. It's very subtle because PMM is a little darker, but on yours I think it would pop out a little bit more.

lol probably because it's a pain. make sure you have a friend to help you when you decide to do it tho.

Thanks, when you redo yours make sure you take off the xm, side rails and the little v clips that hold the rails to the roof. It makes everything so much easier, and those rails are not that hard to take off.

On that note, I was thinking about adding a black ebay window spoiler, but I'm not sure. What do you guys think?

lol yeahhhh it is. I need to redo it with plastidip this time. I want to clear my headlights and I've been trying to wait until I do that so I can redo my grill at the same time, but I don't know how much longer it can wait lol.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys!

Haha yeah that was you then. Now I notice the exhaust in your avatar, that was definitely you. I noticed the azine sticker too so I was surprised there was no reply in the sightings thread.

I saw another modded WDP that day around Hoboken.

Your car looks good but definitely redo that roof, the white strip really stands out.

thanks man, to each his own right? I like them because they're different but not too flashy.

Also just started installing my EDFC this weekend, just waiting on a few set screws from tein to finish it up. Can't wait to try that out.

excuse the iphone pic.

It honestly wasn't THAT terrible. I have taken the dash apart a few times before so I already knew what I was doing for that, so that was pretty easy. There was a pretty convenient place to run the wires through the firewall near the pedals, and it was super easy to run the wires to the rear seats under the carpet. I just drilled a few holes in the sides of that center box to run the wires to the controller without even taking it out, so that was pretty simple.

the only hard part for me was wiring the controller into the electric system. I thought I could tap it into another fuse from behind, but I ended up just using one of these add-a-circuit things to the fuse box inside. If I had known I was gonna do that beforehand, it woulda been much simpler. My dad is pretty good at this kind of thing, so his help made it much easier.
