It feels good to be back home.
After a 2 and a half year wait w/o a TL, I'm glad to be finally be back in one. For those of you who don't know, I've had 2 previous TLs: an 06 WDP which I traded for an 07 NBP Type-S which eventually was totalled. After my Type-S, I jumped ship to a 335i, but it never quite gave me the same 'feeling' as being in a Type-S. I've always wanted one since I was 17 and its still my favourite car of all-time to this day. I eventually regretted not getting a second one right after my first one crashed.
A couple of weeks ago I started looking around for Type-S' to replace a dying CR-V in my household. I knew a Type-S was going to take its place, and like the CR-V, I intend on running the TL-S till the wheels fall off. I knew I wanted one that was in good condition in either NBP or WDP and less than 60k mi, but I knew it was going to be a tough task given these cars were 5-6 years old now. I guess you could say I had unrealistic expectations for a used car. I managed to find an 07 NBP with 50k mi that a local Mitsubishi dealer had for 18k. I negotiated them down to 15.5k and although it was low mileage, I wasnt 100% happy with it because the car had an accident claim and was in subpar condition meaning the exterior and interior look like it had gone through a beating. I took solace in the fact that 15.5k was absolutely a ridiculous price for a Type-S with that mileage. I'm sure all of you know how used Type-S prices even with high mileage are being gouged in both the States and Canada.
Either way I was intent on buying it today, and right before I was about to leave to sign the papers for the NBP, I checked autotrader one last time in the morning and a local Volkswagen dealership had just placed an ad for an 08 WDP with 53k mi for 20k. They had just listed it that morning, and it didnt even have any pics up! I called them and asked if they can match the 15.5k I was getting the NBP for and sure enough they said no. They told me to come and check out the car for myself as there were no pics online, so I said eff it and went to look at it en route to sign for the NBP. I stopped by and after a walk around and drive on the WDP which came in a day prior (which happened to be a trade in for a GTI btw), I knew in my mind I wasn't going to be satisfied at the end of the day with the NBP. This WDP was literally a 10/10, I was so happy I had found this car. The exterior and interior were both immaculate, and I mean IMMACULATE. The back seats and passenger look like they've never been sat in, and it didn't have a single scratch, swirl, or rock chip on it. Best of all it had that new car smell and no accidents. This car's condition far exceeded what I had hoped for, I was amazed when I seen it.
After 30 minutes I got them down to 17.5k for the car and signed for it. I could care less about the 2 grand price difference between the too, because I know that it would've cost me a pretty penny to bring the NBP back up to good condition, plus I knew getting the WDP made more sense. I haven't been this happy about a car since I traded my 06 TL for my 07 Type-S. I wasn't even this excited when I bought my BMW to be honest. I'm so happy, but I just wish Friday morning (when I pick up the car) would come quicker. :
Now on to the pics (I forgot to take them when I was there, and these are the ones the salesguy sent me later on in the day, they suck I know.

Welcome back!
I'm actually surprised that you came back to a TL-S. I always imagined a 335i coupe would give you a better "feeling" than being in a TL. Back when I had to choose between a TL-S and a 335i coupe, I picked the TL because it was more practical for the future than a coupe.
With that said, how did you like the 335i?

Thanks!
Right back at ya
Trust me, I missed the WDP
Thanks, and the 335i is stored for now, looking to trade that in soon.
Thanks
Definitely looked like it
Thanks man!
Trust me, I'm happy I landed in this car instead of the NBP
Will do when I go and pick up the car, but it shouldn't be an issue. It honestly seems like the previous owner took amazing care of it.

Congrats! How'd the dealership with the NBP TL-S handle the bad news when you told them?

Hey man replying from my phone so its kind of hard to upload a pic. Ill do it soon though!
Our CR-V had 282k kkm on it when we gave it away yesterday.
Yeah I hope 17.5k wasn't too much LOL
Thanks
Thanks!
I missed the WDP since my first TL, however a NBP Type-S will always catch my eye.
Honestly, I get that a lot. I dont care about practicality or anything like that I'm only 22 lol and I dont think the Type-S is a better car than the Beamer. Believe me, the Type-S is light years behind the BMW in terms of driving dynamics, build quality, comfort, and other miscellaneous factors. I only like the TL better because its my favourite car. I just like the techno feel to it, I love the way it looks inside and out compared to my coupe. I just love it.
Thanks man! read my last reply to anx1300c
Thanks! I never informed them, I'm sure they'll sell it soon though.
