Engine Mod PICS
for those of you who painted the 3.2 v-tech part on the engine, did you take the cover off or just paint it on the car(not talking about the plastic cover the engine its self)? If you did take it off did you have to replace the gasket thats under it?

I know buddy-everybody here in KC in on me to get a CAI. We get heavy rain at times, so I'm not too comfortable getting a cold air intake. I just can't justify ~$250.00 for a little more growl. Plus, run the possibility of locking up the engine if it gets water in it.

When I priced it out, the cost for the entire engine compartment was around $1,300. I felt like that was too much for a mod that you don't see very often. Obviously, I had my cowling pieces painted instead.
I did mine myself. Go to http://www.carbonmods.com you can get the entire kit, hi-temp, relatively cheap. They also have some great DIY videos on there to help get you started.

I actually bought the CF on Ebay because it is a lot cheaper but I bought the hi-temp base and hi-temp resin from carbonmods. On my old car I had the red/black carbon kevlar, which you can get on Ebay along with other various colors, which I would have used again if I had a different color other an AM.
