I've been thinkin the exact same thing. The only reason I like our stock exhaust tip is because they match our bumper, other than that...their kinda fugly.

Here is something i did a while back with porsche cayenne tips. =D

Actually, if you were prepared to mod the car a little and extend the opening, it might look like this:

Not too sure about it ... I'm probably just to use to the 2 regular pipes. But yeah, there will probably have to be some modifications to the bumper. You might want to just order 1 muffler and make sure it fits on both sides before getting 2 incase you have to return them and then having the supplier keeping a "restocking fee"?

Pics? I also think the factory tips could be much more flush.

i remember ali enterprises wanted to do this and was trying to get all the parts together. he was sent off to iraq and i dont think he ever got a chance to complete it, make me start thinking about it. I think it looks pretty good. we are going to have some problems finding tips that will fit in there well enough but i'm sure they are out there.

im not a fan of twin tips unless there is something surrounding them. if they just pop out under the bumber cover i dont think it looks right.

i know what ur saying. uinlike the M3 or the SL500 the are already lowered and have theyre own "kit" stock, and the exhaust blends with the body instead of standing out.

thats why if i get it done, ill gonna customize a rear kit, and shave off the extra (as for just a single tip exhaust) to fit both of the nicely

I dont think they do it for this particular year. The porsche ones on the CL look nice but come with a serious price. Like 6 or 800...JUST FOR TIPS!! Either way think the factory ones are the best some far. I had some video with someone with dual HKS hiper exhaust that actually looked ok..sound was even better..but kinda takes away from the daily driver luxury feel. Probably cause he didn't have cats either...anywayz, continue....

I think that if you can get some sort of skirt, like the 3G have, that it would look bad ass. I have the A-Spec body kit on my 3G and I love the way it looks.

I see that there is one on ebay right now, but it looks a little too pronounced:

Sorry...ok, the 2nd gen bumper cover sits right on top of the exhaust tips...it doesnt surround them like the 3rd gen bumper cover does. If you are running twin tips I think it looks a lot better to have them enclosed. I love how the M3 exhaust looks and thats mainly because they are surrounded by the bumper cover.

I think I get what u mean. Like the tips dont exceed the bottom of the bumper and dont look like they were added on, aftermarket.

If we find some tips that arent too large in diameter, i think it will still fit within the stock exhaust cutoff.

ali enterprises was supposed to get this done to his car before he went to iraq, i dont know how that turned out. i dont know if we can find tips that will be able to fit within the cutouts...might be too wide. I've also though about making a hybrid tip, where i take a base from one tip and then TIG weld on two SS pieces...I'm still trying to put something together on that front. I really like how it looks and have been dying to change the shit I had to put on my mufflers after I lost the OEM tip.

Im not sure if I read correctly, but was it you that had access to a muffler/welding shop? If so that would be awesome if you can find 2 pipes that will fit, but if not, disregard what I said.
