well after research and bugging several people about making me a set of custom tails... chill_dog convinced me the best thing to do was to make them myself. after long debate..i decided to take a crack at it. the end result...is this...after several hours of work and careful cutting i successfully FINISHED ONE tail light the other is a work in progress as i am waiting on another light..although this was somewhat of a PITA here it is...comments/questions all welcome

so far i have the housing painted and ready to go..just need to cut the other one open..pop in the painted housing and clear insides..and seal it back up..this next one should be quick

Seems like you just brought out a different version of a murdered look. LOL Black housing contrasts the lines of the car sooo well...and the cleared parts compliment the SSM paint!

hopefully they're jus paint chip....but thats still bad

You might wanna seal that up before it starts foggin up and mess up those tails!

Those are the cleanest custom tails I've seen in a while! You're going to change the rear sidemarker to TLS smoked, right?

Match those up with some gunmetal rims (like the TLS), and it would complete the look!

i parted out most of what i had and traded my type-s rear aspec for base a-spec but i always wanted to make some tails like this so i couldn't help it!

coming as soon as i get the other tail light from tim! (ib18c1)

the chip was there when i got the light..tim's a little clumsy lol jk tim! and the gashed are on the outside..they are from me rubbing up against the lens lol i didn't clean the light i just wanted to show everyone how it looked on the car and that i actually got it done


i know i know..sidemarkers coming soon and everyone seems to like th washing machine
they're coming!



yeaaa sold my type-s exhaust so base exhaust didnt look good with that rear lip

well to make a set of these you need t use a total of 4 tail lights...

2 oem reds and 2 oem 07/08 with the clear lenses. all of the clear parts come off 04-06 tails. when you remove the red lens..everything inside is chrome and clear so i just swapped out the insides and threw them in the 07/08 tails, painted the housing and sealed them up

sidemarkers are def. gonna be changed, but first im waiting for

Tails look great, but maybe I'm missing something here...

The first photo shows the blinker section blacked out with a solid piece. For a second, I thought you were doin some stealthy blinking tail light mod....but then the other pics, there is a clear lense in there....
