The reason I ask, is because very few places know how to do "black chrome".

Here you go...

These are mine i got from falconi acura in vegas...they shipped them fully ready to mount.

They are not too bling, and not too understated...

They handle pretty well! I've gotten quite a few compliments from guys (but girls dont seem to care)

black chrome??? i saw a A-spec rim at parts counter at dealer, the "blackness" comes from a sprayed on coat.

"Black chrome" is plated in the same way as "bright chrome". The formula is as follows:

Chromic acid 33 oz (936 g)

Acetic acid = 28.2 oz (800 g)

Barium acetate =1.0 oz (28 g)

Distilled (or demineralized) water to make 1 gal. (3.79 litre).

OK, but that's not how the a-spec rim gets it's "darkness". i don't even think the a-spec rim is chromed, it's just a high luster aluminum then has a translucent dark spray over it.

a-spec rim and a true "dark chromed" wheel may be different in looks

Yes, i believe you are all correct

its a powder coating that is painted that gives it that appearance... which i guess you can translate to it being lightly colored "blacK'
