Converse's NBP mods (slow but steady)

Hey guys, I figured I should start up a progress/build log for my 2008 NBP Type-S 6MT. I have been slow to mod so far since I just started back to work not too long ago (had a major accident earlier this year, looooong story). That being said, there are plenty of mods that I would like to do but I just havent had the time, nor the money, to do that many of them so far. Never fear though, I WILL be modding as much as I can and as often as I can, albeit probably quite slow (at least to begin with). Anyway, on to the TL sex.

I purchased the TL on 9/5/11 from a dealer. It was certified with only one previous owner and had a little over 71K on the ODO at the time of sale. These are some pics from a few days after I brought her home.

In the middle of Oct I went and did some tiny little aesthetic mods (if you can even call them that). I just changed to red lugs and added red valve stem covers. [FYI: I'm going for the blacked out look with red accents theme] I also added some side mirror decals. (please forgive the cell phone pix)

Now, the biggest mod I've done so far was that I got my tints done at a local shop yesterday. I went for 20% all the way around (except windshield). These are some other shots from this morning to compare the tint.

That's it so far. Def more to come.

My list of ideas so far (in no particular order):
- J-pipe
- XLR8 quad non-res exhaust
- CAI (w/ or w/o TBS)
- repaint brembos red
- black rims (have a few in mind)
- Ack cleared headlights
- Ack stealth tails
- switchbacks
- black vinyl wrapped grille
- amp'd emblems
- Type-S ASPEC kit
- Megan coilovers (possibly)
- HID fogs
- LED DRLs
- supercomputer pedals
- supercomputer lit door sills

Feel free to add some to my list if you thint it would be a good fit, or add any comments/thoughts/criticisms for that matter. I'm just a n00b in the Acura scene and I'm always looking for ideas or help with other mods.

Also, I am still talking to the guys, but I am planning on meeting up with CesarRod and Liquid0401 this weekend. Most likely Saturday. I'll try and get some better quality shots then. Any other members in the SJ area, hit me up on here if you wanna come on down.

Looks great man. I am getting my TL tinted tomorrow I was thinking 5% but then opted out. You have tan interior? How does the 20% look during the day when the sun is out? Any more pictures? I have 20% on my E60 but that car has black interior so it looks pretty dark not sure how the light color interior would affect the TL.

Some suggestions for some cheap mods. Debadge the car and plasti dip the front grille black. Black out the emblems since you are going for the murdered out look? Tint the tails/amber part of the headlight with vinyl tint. Get carbon fiber 3M interior vinyl for the dash/trim?

thanks for the suggestions. i was gonna vinyl wrap the grille since i like the gloss look. but plastidipping the badges would be sweet. although i wont debadge. ill just plastidip everything haha.

yes tan interior, and no other pix yet. got it done yesterday and those were real quick this morning. i should have more by the weekend and ill post them up after.

Nice car and great plans!! I myself am a fan of the blacked out look, but unlike red, I chose to go with a black/chrome theme...cant wait to see/hear about your progress...congrats and good luck!!

So I got home today and I had a box for me.

What could it be?

Opening the box:

Oh look, my pedals and sills from Supercomputer!!

I will get those installed a little later. Probably not until the weekend honestly. I have another one of my licensing exams this week. Will post pix when the pedals and sills are installed. Sills are red.

On another note, I was at my girlfriends house and saw the neighbors SSM (i think) UA6. I was admiring the difference between my 20% tints and his fishbowl. I had to take a pic for you guys.

More to come. Stay tuned.................

^^ yea i thought they would be a nice addition. like i said im trying to go all blacked out and just have some red accents. kinda makes it easy since all my interior lights on the dash and whatnot are already red. i just have to keep going with it. i think the next small mod (once the sills and pedals are installed) is going to be changing the dome lights and the corner lights on the front doors to red LED

yea ok cesar you need to get on it, you got the same car i do. your welcome to stop by when im doing the LEDs since your trying to do those too

wtf, my thread died!

although i have been slacking a bit with the mods. lately i installed red LEDs in the interior domes and courtesy door lights (will get pics later when i get a chance). i have not completely resolved my lit sill issue but i have been working on it. i bought the LED DRL when i bought the domes but have not installed yet.

i will get pics when everything else is finished but for now i owe you some pics of the domes.

Looking good so far. Be careful with those aftermarket lugs on stock wheels. Sometimes they don't seat right.

I'm still alive!!

Sorry for dropping off of the face of the earth lately. Work has been kind of insane. Anyway, on to the mods.

Last time I left unfinished business. I promised you guys pics of the installed red sills and domes, so here they are. I installed them around Christmas time but just forgot to post pics of them.

Domes:

Sills:

Now for newer updates. Since I just went back to work in March I have been working like crazy, hence my extended absence. At any rate I come home the other day to see this.......

A pile of boxes

Look who from!

Look what I found inside!

Almost forgot the center caps.

I bought Rondy's last pair of Legend GTs. Work is going to be nuts this week so I may not have them mounted right away. Rondy recommended a 235/40/18 tire for these. Anyone have any suggestions on brand/make/model tires that are better?

Also, not so distant future plans include A-Spec lip kit, cleared heads w/ switchbacks, tinted tails, and painting the Brembos. I plan on having all of that done by 4th of July. Problem is trying to balance mods/work/GF/bills/life all at once.

That black and red looks SIC! Keep up the color combo! With the windows up and the red LED's on inside it looks evil, must be really nice at night.

Dude, nice job on the interior lighting and the door sills.

LOVE the RonJon wheels. With that red trim on the wheels, they will look awesome on your NBP. Obviously, shoot us pics when they're installed.
