Exclamation

Sorry for the massive delay guys. Work has been insane lately. I did get the Ron Jon wheels on shortly after I posted that they had showed up at my door. I had Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS 235/40/18 tires mounted on them.

Now on to the pics:

Next step: Exhaust!

I just ordered the V2 J-Pipe and the Non-Res exhaust system from XLR8 earlier this weekend. Now I just have to wait for it to show up and have at it.

After I get that all done I want to drop it. I was thinking of using Tien SS coilovers. Anyone else have any input or suggestions about this? I was looking to get this done before the winter, if not I am going to have to wait until the spring to finish up.

In the meantime, I am going to plastidip my Type-S wheels, paint them red, and probably put Blizzak LM-60 tires on those for the winter.

As always, comments/criticisms/any input is welcome.

Legends looks great....

About drop first off is what are you trying to achieve....

if you are just looking for a drop and no further adjustability then just get springs
if you are looking for only a drop and height adjustability then get Tein Basics
if you are looking for height + dampening adjustability then get Tein SA/XLR8 ISC N1

I went from Tein Basics to XLR8 ISC N1's and I cudnt be happier....they are cheaper than Tein SA's which are cheaper than Tein SS....they come with top hats, 32 levels of dampening adjustability, preload adjustability(which teins dont have) 1 year warranty, they are only $850 shipped (special which is going on).....

Hope that helps...

Thanks guys! Yea, I almost forgot, I want to do the A-Spec kit as well. I guess I will have to do that after the exhaust and push the drop back until the spring. Depending on time/money/etc

Moar updates!!

Hey guys. Like I said last time I had just ordered the non-res exhaust and j-pipe from XLR8.
A few days after I posted that these boxes showed up at my house.

I ripped them open and this is what I found inside! The XLR8 V2 J-Pipe and XLR8 Non-Resonated Exhaust!

I headed up to a friends house to install them the first chance I got.

Jacked up the car:

Ripped out old exhaust in one big piece:

After a pretty short and simple 2 hr install I was left with this.

A few days after the install I decided to plasti-dip my rear badges black to go along with my murdered out theme.

That's everything I have for now. I did order the OEM visors from Ack the other day so I will install them as soon as they come in. Later on either this week or next I am going to see about ordering those Blizzaks depending on funds and everything else.

Its been a slow going process so far but there is still much more to come. Stay Tuned!!

I love your descriptions and all the parts you chose for your nice car. Don't forget that drop now. It will make all the difference. Look to get some spacers when you drop to keep the tires flush or near flush. I used H&R spacers for my car. For adjustability the Teins are good. I use H&R sports springs for a 1.4 inch drop and I installed Koni Yellows. Also do not forget that Comptech or Progress rear anti-sway bar. I have base TL so Comptech is what I chose which gives the car a balanced to feel to slightly oversteer when pushed hard. For your Type S a Progress may be the way to go.

Yo guys, I know I have been slacking like crazy when it comes to the updates. Sorry, I haven't been on here much lately. I still owe everyone a bunch of pics from my previous mods as well as some new stuff that I did so here goes. (Please excuse quality, mostly cell pics.)

For the winter i dipped my waffles lime green.
(Did this before the blaze plasti came out so it was a bitch to get off. I still have spots that won't come off.) When I was at work one night someone apparently sit my bumper and never came in and told anybody. Walked out in the morning to find this.

You can kinda see it in this pic too.

After that happened I went to Bruce (AckTL05) to get a new bumper. While I was at it, I got an A-Spec kit as well.

(At some point before that I got the OEM visors and all season floor / trunk mats.)

Last month or the month before after I got laid off I was looking for cheap projects to do. I ended up dipping my grille and removing my front plate. (Eventually I am going to order the red bumper inlays.)

Since I was dipping, I decided to dip the engine covers as well. I originally did the main engine cover red and the outer covers white.......

...but decided it looked a bit off since I wasn't going to accent anything else white so I made it all red.

My most recent project has been the calipers. I already had ordered and recieved the RDX covers for the rears and I plan to just paint the front Brembos. I painted the covers red yesterday and plan on finishing the entire project later this week if the weather holds out.

The tri-state BBQ is this Sunday so I want to have the calipers done, and maybe even a drop. Heading out later on today to see about ordering a full set of Tein SA coilovers from a local dealer. If I'm lucky I can get everything done in time for Sunday. If not, that's one of my next major mods.

I'll keep you guys posted on how the calipers turn out and what I find about the drop.

Not really digging the whole red theme, seems a bit to me. But the exhaust looks pretty bad ass! And it's your car, so mod as you please! Hopefully you get back up on your feet soon, I know it's tough to find a job these days. Keep your head up!

I concur....

i think the red looks a little overboard and is not subtle anymore....

the car looks good though....

also you have many many colors, red/green/black/white....I could try to cut down one of the attention grabbing colors and replace with a neutral tone color

You ruined those awesome Type S wheels...

I agree that the red theme under the hood is not really cutting it. Hopefully you can pull that Plastidip off those wheels asap.

Props on the wheel choice and exhaust!

You had a lot of colors going on there. Even though some of the guys don't like the red, I'm glad to see you at least settled on one color instead of multiples.

The green was just to stand out in the winter. I wanted to have a color that I hadn't seen anyone else with. Plus, it was my first time dipping so now i know I didn't put enough on and that's why its hard to get off.

As for the red, I know it's a lot under the hood, but I'm doing it for now until I have a job and money to do other mods. Like I said, I was laid off and was just looking for something to do. But everyone is entitled to their own

At least I have all the accents one color. I had to do the white on the engine covers in order for the red to pop. I just thought I'd get other opinions on it. General consensus was to make it all red, so that's what I did. Personally, I like it the way it is for now. Who knows, I may change it up later.

For now, the main project is the calipers. I looked into the drop and its more than I can spend at the moment so that's gonna have to wait until I get back to work. The past few days I was focused on fixing my parents Jeep and I have an interview tomorrow so I just hope I can get everything done in time for the meet on Sunday.

Hey guys, I finished the install and painting of the RDX covers Friday.

Front: 2 layers of white and 2 layers of red...

...then decal and 2 layers of clear.

Front finished.

Rear: 2 coats white, 2 coats red, and 2 coats clear

Attached covers that I already painted with RTV Black.

Rear finished

Complete car finished.

I also did the shaved door handle mod. I was out and stopped by the dealer to get a price on the part. Was only $14 so I picked it up and swapped it out. No pics tho.

Lowering is one of the next things to be done, just as soon as i get back on my feet with work. I already went to the local Tein dealer and priced out a set of Tein SA.

The only thing I hate is that you just sprayed the calipers on the car and got over spray all over the rotors and backing plate. Looks sloppy. But the red stands out awesome on the black car!
