Cleared Headlight Pics

Hey eveyone, I recently cleared my headlights with the help of my friend Nick. The grille is also now black. Here are some pics. Enjoy!

BTW: Just ordered everything for a custom magnaflow exhaust set up. I'll get some pics up this weekend!

Before

During

At night

During some snow

It's kinda awkward seeing the bulb.

Seeing LED is

NOBODY with cleared headlights should use the stock halogen.
I think 99% of people with modded headlights use LED turn signals.

Why?

The stock halogen looks UGLY without the amber lens.
The bulb is actually clear - not amber coated like most people think.

It's the amber diffuser that gives off the amber colour.
Without the amber diffuser, you don't get that amber colour.

That's why most people go amber LEDs or switchbacks.

Bake the headlights to open them up.
Then just disassemble the headlight. There are 4 plastic pins holding the diffuser in. Bend the pins straight and remove the diffuser.

Haha dude that's not "Amber".

It's what I called pale whitish yellow ugly lol

Replace them with LEDs and you're good to go.

Comparison...

I couldn't stand the halogens behind no amber lens.

Do it with a buddy haha

It's more fun and you laugh about how easy the directions are.

I did headlights with shtewps.

When you do it by yourself I can imagine it being so serious and not fun and more worrying.

Looks good. I always wondered what a black grill would look like on a DGP. Not my taste but still looks pretty good.

If you're not comfortable with the oven method, try using a heat gun. That's what I've used for the last couple sets of headlights I've done.
Headlights look like they've turned out great. I would have painted them black to match the grille better, but that's just me.
