If you have cleared, blacked out, painted your headlights to match body color, etc.. would you please post a picture of the headlights in all 4 stages please? You can submit w/e pics you have, but this is what I mean:

1 - ALL OFF
2 - Turn Signals ON
3 - Driving / HID Lights ON
4 - Driving / HID Lights and Fog Lights ON

I currently have tint on my healights and would like to change it and do something else, but I dont wanna do anything and be stuck with something I dont like bc of the lighting, the way it looks when lights are on vs. off, etc... Any pics would be appreciated.. Thx

Basically you are not going to want to clear your headlights. Only black them out.

I kinda like the fact that I can take my tint off whenever I want n put it back on... What's ur opinion on painting the housing to match body color? I saw a RRP TL with body color heads... looked kinda nice, I'll see if i can find that pic/thread. STILL NEED PICS THOUGH!! Let's get snappin! Oh yeah, and did I mention...

Total cost with paint, install ZKW lenses, clearing and shipping was $250. I think he starts in the $190 range for simple clearing.

I gave him a deposit and he used a set of headlights he had. As soon as I get these installed, I will ship my headlights to him and he will return my deposit. The whole process has worked really well so far.

Back to the intent of the original poster...

I only have 2 out of the 4 stages you want.

1 - ALL OFF

3 - Driving / HID Lights ON

Specs: Cleared, Silverbulbs.com 7443 chrome/amber

The look you want depends on a few things. Things you need to consider: clear, black, or colormatched; 7443 bulbs or LEDs; super white or amber. You'll get the look you want after you've figured out the combination. Good luck!

All the pix look nice.. thanks! I like them all (the cleared on the white = sweeet) but i havent seen any RBP cars with modded headlights so I guess I'll do some searching (leaning toward blacked or colormatched though)... another thing... does anyone have or know if u can put on SUPER SUPER blue headlights? I've seen them on non-projector beam cars n it looks sick and is WAY brighter! ((I kinda got a thing for blue if u havent noticed lol))

That RRP has the SWEETEST drop i've seen on a 3rd gen TL so far.. I think the 3rd gen takes a drop much better than the 2nd gen (visually that is).

Hey Kev...hadn't seen you around the boards much. Yeah, color match for RRP is the way to go. Yours look sweat!! I am hoping the ZKW lenses I've had installed are as sharp as promised.

I'll post pics later this week...

Where do you go to get cleared/blacked out/color matched lights? And what's the difference between cleared and blacked out? I assume "clearing" the light would mean removing the amber plastic pieces inside the assembly. i don't get what "blacking out" is and color matching obviously matches the headlight to the body color. I just stepped up from a 1997 Prelude SH to a RRP (just recently learned the lettering color code lingo) 2006 TL. I like the Type-S tails and think they'll look much better on the RRP than the all red ones. I know www.hondacuraworld sells them but I need to know where to go to get the head lights altered.

well you can diy by popping the headlights in the oven for 20 min at 200, take the casing off, strip the amber, andseal it back up with some sealant to be safe (not entirely sure ... might want to search it first haha) ... or if you're living in california, the go-to place seems to be Rego Sport in Glendale, CA ... their number is 818-547-3337 if you're interested. I'm going to be going to have this done in the near future as well. Also in reply to your other question, blacking out is technically going through the removal of the amber pieces and then painting them black ... i might be wrong @___@

do it yourself stuff huh? That really doesn't seem too difficult. I did all of my prelude stuff myself. But blacking the headlight out is still confusing. I would guess you would apply it to the inside of the headlight and not the yellow turn signal inserts. I wonder if there's a "how to" in the forums.

Depending on ur location, u can get it done by someone else, DIY, or trade with someone. Clearing the headlight would mean the entire headlight assembly is reflective silver (no amber reflector). Blacking out means removing the amber reflector AND painting the entire inside of the headlight assembly black. If you want to alter your heads, I suggest color matched - they look HOTTTT with RRP... Cleared and Blacked out dont look good on RRP, IMO.

Welcome aboard. I found that in the sticky thread for the 3G TL Garage. You would have also found it with a search.

Thanks for the help. I did find it with a little search. Among a few other posts on how to do it. I fiddle around with it but I'm not sure what i want to do yet. I plan on putting the type-S tails and markers on it. Since they're black/smoked I might black out the heads to match and go with black rims. I do like the red on K-Shawn's car but if I'm going to try to match the rest of the components, it would work. Besides, I'm not really a fan of color matching the lights. One of the reasons I want the type-S tails is because I don't like the way the stock tails blend in with the rest of the body. I want them to stand out.
