yeah, even the 1/4" you need to kinda feed with one hand and kinda pinch smaller as you lay it in the channel. I used a flathead to press it into the seams so the other side of the lens wouldn't have a hard time pressing into place.
wet your fingers/tools when touching the butyl. Keep a glass of water to dip your fingertips in, shake off excess...the butyl will not stick to a wet finger.

ok cool thanks bud. now do I want to install the butyl, clamp the lights together, then rebake them to seal or do I have the order screwed up. also I noticed JnC used these little screws to keep the lens from separating from the housing, should I reuse these or have u had good luck without them? damn shame since I get no condensation at all with this current setup lol
Really...I wish I'd known that and exactly HERE he screwed them together cause that's a genius idea and I thought of it but didn't want to add holes to the lights.
What I did...is since you start putting together at the outer corner (you'll see, the back of the reflector has these clips you'll need to kinda see if you clip into place as you press together)...after laying the channel and pressing into place with a large flat head...I used a heat gun to warm up the butyl a little, especially in that corner to ensure THAT set first and in place before oven where you're pressing everything else into place.
Then oven...then clamp starting from the outer corner you started and press together listening for little air bubble pops...lastly, press the tabs over their respective fins and that'll tell you for sure you lined it all up properly.
To be safe and if you want, you can lay a thin layer of clear silicone across the top seam (and bottom, fk it)...on my clear heads I did this...don't lay it on too thick on the inner corners if you do though cause the bumper will not press down flat when reinstalling. On the ambers, I just did that same thing but smeared my failed butyl back across the channel.
Mine don't leak because I'll just never drive the TL in the rain since the S is much more fun.
small update... no I still haven't pulled the trigger with the headlights yet but spoke to JnC and will be having the lenses swapped with a few changes. added some real CF accents as well as finally added a switch to give me full control of my drls (without any error codes of course)
How can I run a switch for my Drl's on my 08 Type S? Thanks!
pretty invloved but in short ull need a relay harness which I had from my led drls then wire a switch to the relay

didn't Heeltoe make a set of inserts for the emblems? Or is that it?
I remember seeing them awhile back and also thought it was Marcus who was selling them but it is USR who has them along with red inserts for the bumper letters and steering wheel also
I don't even remember...
Hope you're well, man...and you're welcome, I guess...
lol what's that supposed to mean. yea I was alittle unclear with my answer but it is usr who sells them in both red and CF. I guess in the past they had silver CF and a few other choices but not any longer
same here!!! done with all this fake CF. I have some big
plans for CF skinning my roof and doing away with the vinyl wrap. as well as real CF accents (much like the emblems I just installed) all around with the added task of keeping everything clean and not overdoing it which is very easy. also have my sights on a custom vented CF hood which will be paint body color aside from the vents which I wanna keep CF
That's all real CF. You can tell from the weave / depth of the clear on top alone I think. Or if its vinyl, then it has to be the best damn 3M carbon imitation I've ever seen...
thanks Steven and guys been experimenting with this vinyl which isnt that eBay garbage it's actually from a major player in the vinyl bis. hopefully this will me a mod filled winter
