No pics yet. Do you have pics of what your rear looked like before you got rearended?

I just want to see what the base rear looks like with a Type-S aspec lip.

just go thru my thread, there's plenty of pics. really looks 100% the same so really there's no reason to even go more than a couple pages back and look at those cause they all look the same. only difference is that my bumper matches better than before the accident

hahaha what's up buddy!!!! been getting stuff ready for a big update. just recently found a loose spark plug while investigating a slight ticking noise. good news was that it was the culprit, only problem is that when I pulled the coil pack out there was alittle oil in the sleeve. nothing on the tip of the plug just some oil in that sleeve. good thing I finally decided to check, thinking maybe a gasket

Are you sure it wasn't oil coming up from the loose plug rather than over the top from gasket? How about just trying to tighten down the valve cover gaskets slightly?

Shoot at 645pm, no specs will show

well there wasnt any oil on the tip of the spark plug just on the shaft if the coil pack. there also wasnt any oil anywhere else. just happy the ticking is gone now that the spark plug is actually threaded all the way in and torqued.

I'm already working so ill upload some pics around 4 when I'm out

Yeah, you never want all your lube on shaft only. If your tip is dry you'll want to look into that, may need a shot of penicillin.

Well, I'd wonder why that one came loose to begin with, TBH...it's highly unlikely only ONE gasket went bad. Dry it off, check it in a week. Weeping valve cover gaskets aren't mission critical if not leaking badly. My front one has been weeping for years.

well the valve cover is bone dry even around that plug. also all 5 other coil packs and spark plug sleeves were also dry as can be. just that one had oil in the sleeve and on the stem of the coil. I've heard of plugs coming loose before and that's y I decided to check. I'm obviously happy I found the culprit and tightened the plug but tore the little rubber end of the coil pack trying to fish it out since the oil caused it to slip off the coil pack as I removed it from the sleeve, so ill be buying a new one but wanna fix the issue before I install it

yea same here lol. after explaining the problem a few people told me about these O ring gaskets that seal those sleeves to the valve cover and also how the valve cover gasket would obviously need to be replaced also to do them obviously. just didnt know if anyone has had any experience with them or even a valve cover gasket

Oh, I've had plenty of experience with them, duh...I've done numerous changes over the years on previous cars. it's not rocket science...normally the gasket kit will have valve, those 6 rings for the spark hole and even new gaskets for the pressure washers for the nuts that hold the cover on. Easy enough job.

Much better, the sun was not washing the pictures out!
Looking good, man...funny, you're so detail oriented you're embarrassed to post a picture with less damage than a normal car with rock chips and whatnot.

thanks bro! ya it was really sunny after work yesterday but freezing. btw the cars all dented up still from the paintballs and my two toned front bumper has many many rock chips lol. once this tax return comes I'm banging both those things out as well as the valve cover O rings, tensioner + idler, etc. got alot of little things but on top of it all I wanna put my wheels on this weekend hehe

also dunno if I already mentioned but I did finally max out my front coils so I'm officially maxed out all around on my teins, also decided to do the type-s hood trim and V trim (have plans to paint the grey part of the bumper body color). planning a pretty decent update once I start to knock out some of this work. also been doin alot of work on my buddy's nbp type-s that was Brandon's from Atlanta

well I was gunna do paintless dent removal for the paintball dents and I have a $500 deductible so since it'll prolly be cheaper than that I'm just gunna pay. as far as painting the front bumper I haven't gotten any quotes yet so not sure how much it's gunna be

Gotcha...I'd expect about $200 for new bumper and $200 for paint, probably...something like that.
PDR can be a lot depending on panel, damage and accessibility. Jeez.

well I don't plan on replacing the front bumper, just filling done holes and repairing the rock chips before matching the paint. the dents are pretty shallow and no paint is chipped but there are quiet a few if them lol

Just read an article about using dry ice to fix dents, I can't see them in the pictures, but your paintball dents would probably be a perfect candidate to try

I've heard of that too. But I have feeling it would only work with bigger dents and not sure if it would look perfect after pulling the dent back out. But hey something is better than nothing. I ordered some dry ice one day at work and was gonna try it out. I forgot to take it home that day. I looked in the freezer the next day and there was barely any ice in there. I guess it dried up lol. Definitely gonna try it out once I get some time.

Anyway car looks good dude !

I've heard of it too being used by many paintless dent removal services, but ill leave it up to the tech whether or not he believes that's the best tactic for my dents
