Nah. cTLgo has a similar TL but with black Devotions and less custom work on the hood.

I believe this car belongs to NYFENIXTL or some combo of that.

So how much weight do we save with the CF hood? Looks good! I wonder how it would match up with my black TL.

Put it this way....I can hold the CF hood up with one finger....prob about 40# total. The stock hood is WAY heavier than this one.

Thanks for the pics...your hood definitely looks better than mine on the bottom. Have you tried to install the tein hood dampers on that hood?

No...not yet. Running nothing at all for the time being. Tein dampers are sitting on work bench right now....I figured I would mess with that later.

[QUOTE=MichaelBenz]Here is pics of the newly installed Versus Motorsports CF Hood that I got off ebay used.... Not the best light out for pics...so it is what it is...but I tried to get shots of what people asked me about...the hood and front of the hood, ect. Basic results/comments would be:

Fitment = Excellent, little adjustment needed for OEM fit. Working safety latch also (rare) as the square hole had already been cut for it by the previous owner...but I understand that they DID have to cut this whole after the fact on the underside of made the safety latch work and remain on the car....I would also say that the hood latches correctly and the hood has enough structural strength to NOT need extra hood pins and latches like on some CF hood products.

Finish = Being used...this is kind of hard to say. I would give this hood a finish grade of 9 out of 10 though...and this is a used hood? Looks good...no visible blems.

Overall Quality = Being used...again....this is hard to grade accurately...but on this used unit...I am gonna give it a 9 out of 10...and it is used? So my guess is...it was a 10 back when it was brand spanking new. As I said in the other thread...I did fill a few minor voids with resin before install and paint pen the edge of it afterwards...which blended my repairs excellently. Not even visible now. It does have the OEM metal supports on the bottom side too..which adds greatly to the rigidity of the unit.

Install Difficulty = 3 out of 10. Easy easy easy. 4 bolts for me and help from a friend. Thats it. I added one washer at the rear most mount point on each hinge to raise the hood to the fender level and also raised the hood catch two notches up to make it latch correctly. Total install time....10-15 minutes total.

Reactions = Weight savings was like WOW. Front end seems WAY lighter resulting in faster weight transfer to some degree. You DO notice the loss of weight in the front end intially...but you really dont have to adjust anything driving-wise for it. Corners the same, ect. (I drove around a day on it with the A-Spec rims before I switched the rims out to the 20" rims just to check it out as the 20" rims handle differently than the 18's do...and thats not the hood)

There it is though....for those that have been asking quality questions and asking for pics...I hope this answers what you wanted to know. I would say, Versus Motorsports CF Hood.....if that is what you were considering...is a good investment in a CF hood. I like the quality and fit and finish. All good here. Bolted right on...no probs!

Your ride looks bad azz man and I know that this is not the place for this post but how do you clean and maintain a CF hood, do you wax it like normal because I have seen one on a civic hatchback and that thing looked yellow and faded and cracked?

Thanks for the compliment......what you are referring to is typical UV damage to what was originally CF that has no UV resistance or poorly made. Up to now...I dont do anything special to it to care for it. Have even run it through the Lazer Wash with no ill effects. Now a buddy of mine with an Evo and a Siebon CF hood has the same issue you mention...and he ran his through a car wash and it impregnated the CF underneath with water...it is looks foggy in places now...so CF is a real crap shoot honestly....cause Seibon is a fairly well run reputable operation and even they have these problems at times. Do I wax it....not yet....well...a bit I guess as I use a carwash soap that has wax in it - but other than that...no.

Oh...ok. In that case....whatever color you can find! They are not exactly something you can go down to PepBoyz and pick up. First...you have to find somebody making them still. Then you have to purchase it and ship it to you without getting messed up in the shipment. Your color choice....will be BLACK....because if you can find one at all....that will be the color it is.

Would black look good on his car....sure. Probably better than it does on mine frankly.

I know with the Prelude hood I had, the CF one was 21#'s while the stock one was 42#'s. It was exactly half the weight. I loved the CF. It was a San Marino Red with Black CF hood!!! HOT!!!

First off, as you know, Carbon fiber only comes in black!! The other colors are Carbon woven with Kevlar. As is mikes engine cover(red and black). The colored hoods never really caught on, so most manufactures quite making them. The other option these days is to do it silver CF, which again is not CF, it is texalium. Close to the regity of CF but not quite as strong. But looks really good!!

As for the CF on the white, that is hot dude!!! I think CF looks good on every color. Every time I pop my hood, I thank Mikey for the CF engine cover!! Hey Mike, would you be interested in a set of hood dampers that are CF? I am working on get some made!!

The car looks great dude, hope to get mine to that stage one day!! Jason
