your priorities are all effed up brother...ALL EFFED UP!
When you do it...you will wonder why the eff you waited and drove your car like that.

But at least you'll know where you're going with your Navi. Funny enough, I'd love it but it's too much scratch to throw at it...AND it's intimidating.

The checkvalve you could do in a half hour tops...just make sure the fiance' is home to help you bleed it when you're done.

The wing...what about finding out how much it would be to wrap in carbon fiber vinyl? I don't know...it's not my thing but it's just an idea.

hehe.. you crack me up man.. yah I know.. everytime I drive I think about the mod.. lol .. But for some reason when doing mods to my car I can only focus on one at a time.. and this navi thing is a beast!! I have been working on it for a total of 5 hours and am only half way done right now I think.. but most of the difficult stuff is completed..

As far as the wing.. you are headed in the right direction as to what I will be doing hopefully by next summer.. One of my friends in west palm does great carbon fiber work.. i saw him this past weekend and had a little talk with him. He has wrapped the roofs of bmws and other cars with real carbon fiber.. He is a whiz with this stuff.. so when I move to west palm, he and I will be tackling that project.. but before we can wrap it in carbon fiber you need to paint it black first because you will see the color through the carbon fiber.. So thus, the reason why I need to paint it all black.. also, the wing is really really wavy.. they didnt do a good job prepping the wing.. so either way I wont put it on my car until it is painted..

Sounds like you've put some thought into it man...I'm sure the wing AND roof will look great!
About the checkvalve...I'm been trying to coerce you into doing it for a lot longer than you've been doing the navi so I'll have to assume that...
drumroll...
you're SCARED!

Take good pics of your Navi project though...I am very curious to see the outcome!

Looks great...after seeing what's involved and an awesome DIY...I can wholeheartedly tell you that I will NEVER attack this mod. If I was intimidated before...I'm in fetal position now.

Now get that friggin checkvalve out and get back to me Mr. "I've changed my slave before but I'm still scared"!!!!

Great job man...seriously...very well done!

so thats what kept you from coming to our meet haha. Meet was not that great and I was particulary frustrated when taking pictures cause creativity was nill last night. Effin Florida weather being humid. Well anyways I think we should all get together one weekend during the day and do a nice photoshoot. Most of our cars were dirty as hell.

Nav looks nice!!! did you get the bolts?

Yah man I got the bolt this morning. Actually bought one from an 07 Honda accord. I assumed they would be the same since they can swap our steering wheel onto their cars. Thankfully it worked. Acura just could not get it next day like Honda could.

But yah let me know when the next meet is. I can actually make next Wed night meet!! Just checked my schedule.

Pleeeease call me when you do this, I'd like to do mine too but I'm kinda nervous to try it on my own.

Congrats on the engagement too! If you need any vendor recommendations or still looking at locations, my gf is the banquet manager at dubsdread. She can hook you up

where are our pics?
Dude...I thought the rubber mats were too rugged for such a luxury car...boy was a wrong. They look sick. I picked up some used OEM ones for $55 bucks...perfect condition...AND just put in the trunk tray that I bought for $55 shipped from handaaccessories. I couldn't have the mats with carpet in the trunk!

I need start a date list too...it'll go like this.

01/21/09 Bought stepfather's lease and acquired TL
01/22/09 My first fart in my new TL
03/05/09 Tein SS

I guess I need to check receipts and really put my dates together...LOL.

Don't be intimidated to use the relay and install an interior switch. It gives you the ability to make your old stock fogs your DRL with the module. PM and I can walk thru the wiring as I've done another member's and my gf's car now.

RJ...yeah...you're right...I had forgotten half the mods you mentioned. I wish I had taken more stock photos of my car.

That is how I have mine. basically removed the headlight fogs from the setup.. I have my bumper fogs wired directly to the oem headlight fog wires. That is how I like mine.. Yah, when I have time man.. Ill come help you out.. I was actually free this past sunday.. dogh.. but everyone else was busy.. with the holidays coming up I will be pretty busy.

I decided to not use the switch man.. I am going to use the switch for my Navi upgrade for the screen to switch to video mode. I need to make that DVD switch out of the fog switch that people have on here.. I may need your help with the wiring for that.. but shouldnt be too bad..

Sux because I wouldnt mind having a switch to control the headlight fogs, but there is only one empty slot to play with, and I hate having extra switches all over the place.. and I want it to look oem. but now that slot is taken..

And yes you have done quite a few mods to your car!! See I remember haha!

Am i missing some of those features on my car or are they there and i havent played around with the navi enough to see those features. on the navi install and now all you need is a doms unit to watch movies while driving. Or you can go the route i went and try incorporate a carpc to the factory navi screen.

Yah, those options arent available until you hack your navi!! More info here: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/navigation-hack-guide-welcome-screen-mod-trip-computer-ok-button-nag-removal-604912/

I am going to get DOMs when i get a chance. Just spent a little too much on the Navi just now.. Also, going to integrate my iPhone to get my music/videos/internet working on the navi screen!

Carpc is too much money dangit.. And I want everything in one device.. my new iPhone!! lol

Actually, not much. You can reset the map colors but you have to hex edit your NAVI.EXE file to make the changes permanent.
Here is a link from the TSX side with more info on the developer tab:
https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tsx-2004-2008-124/customize-navi-map-colors-permanently-664259/

Also note that the trip computer adds an instant mpg feature but not much else. It and AC the control screens are not very efficient controls---there is a reason Acura buried them and went with the MID. Another oddity is that your HFL will not work correctly while displaying these screens. Acura must not have bothered with adding these voice commands, either.

If you do get handy with the hex editor, you can edit the text on the initial startup screen, to a certain extent---character limits and layout limitations, but it is possible:

Yah thanks man! Been working on the mod list! car is almost complete! But, knowing me I will always find something else to do with it.. Currently working on the media portion of my mods.. I picked up an iphone today and an isimple!! woohoo!! Gonna try these out.. now all I need is the DOMs unit and the proclip!!

I think that dwb993 has done a good job! See his post! Unfortunately, if you do make changes to the colors in the developer mode it does not stay.. you have to actually hack the Navi File. But, the developer menu will allow you to see what it looks like when you change the settings! Then you can edit your file to the settings you were playing with!

Hey RJ..great job. That NAVI hack is the bomb...
I have a Q...
did you ever get rid of that "feedback" noise you ended up with? I have feedback that I'm narrowing down to my factory amp. Problem is if I take signal from before the amp to my aftermarket amps in the back...the sound is too low.

I guess I need to look into some other options cause the feedback when I use the bluetooth or am in between songs is really annoying!

Yah I found it. It was one bad wire! I have no idea how a wire foes bad. I learned how to use a multimeter and tested a bunch of wires that I knew could be the problem and found it to be one wire. I replaced the wire and everything worked perfect!

Maybe try some better wires that are sheilded? Is the power wire for the unit running right nextto it? I know that sometimes if you run power wires next to your speaker wires you will get engine noise. Does your noise change the higher rpm u go?

It does. Where did you find a bad wire? Behind the headunit?
I'm at a loss. Look at the thread I started...I've wasted almost an entire day doing this. Jeez.

Me, I did. But I didn't take the bumper off to get to it. You can pry back the top part to get to the 5 screws holding it on.

Just installed the iSimple today!! AND GOT AN IPHONE!! WOOW ITS AWESOME!!

I didn't remove the whole console.. just removed the arm rest and all the driver side foot well plastic pieces.. And stuck my hand in the back of the radio and unplugged the XM plug.. (after scratching my hands pretty bad and cursing alot lol .. its a pain to do it this way.. but I was lazy to take everything out, because thats a BIGGER pain!)

Here are some pics:
Installed it under the steering wheel:

Ran the wire into the center arm rest. There is a spot here in the upper arm rest where the wires can be fed through. Never noticed it before. .The way the top cover of the arm rest is, allows you to run the wire out of the arm rest and still close it correctly.. Thanks Acura!!

I didn't zip tie the lines yet since I will need to pull all these parts out again..
