I'm a guy who can't make up his mind for crap!! So after a long debate with my alter ego I had to change things again. I bought some red lugnuts, type-s head lights, added some red smoked tails, and removed all the white plasti dip from the car. I also put a carbon fiber lip (for you Steven) on. Now after yesterday's 6" of snow I have to go get some snow tires on the stock wheels and stow the Niche's for spring. I have all winter long to figure out what color I'm finally going to stick with. I'm really leaning toward the same gunmetal with red flakes, or a lighter gunmetal/dark silver. White is not making the cut!!

your stance looks great!! really like the wheel color with your theme
the only thing i think you're missing which would be a huge upgrade in looks is the aspec kit. i was never really a fan of it until last year, but it will completely change how your car looks, this would set your car off

Looks good....it would look even better without all the snow.

Steven I feel ya!! I really wanted to get a cheap commuter and garage for the winter but that money I had saved for that went into doing maintenance on it. I take it In tomorrow for the Timing belt & water pump, as well as the B1235 schedule. I also bought some other parts that I wanted. Aspec would've been next but I went and tried being an adult with the MX. I'll save up and get it eventually.

Good stuff for taking care of that man! Id curious about the pricing, pls report back.
Most TLs have that oil pump leak, I need to do all of that stuff on my TL as well other than spark plugs. Prob end up changing out the crank pulley for a lightweight at that time too and doing all of the crank and cam seals etc. I think ill be able to tackle the power steering pump on my own next season but the other stuff is major so a shop will have to do and I dont have that kind of money to toss at them yet LOL.
Your wheels look better, I wasn't feeling that white when you did that lol
The headlights look great too.

So I got the TL back today, below is a short list of what was fixed. Labor is a real killer!!
1. Timing Belt
2. Water pump
3. Spark Plugs
4. Oil Change
5. Coolant flush/fill
6. Transmission flush/fill
7. Oil pump replace/reseal
8. Power steering pump replace
9. Lower motor mount replace
10. Serpentine belt replace
11. Air filters replaced
With parts and labor it came to a grand total of 2288.18. They also said in order to fix broken wheel stud they'd have to replace the wheel bearing and get an alignment done, which was going to run another 500.00 clams. I declined that fix just because I don't have that money at this moment. I'll search around the forum to see if maybe I can do the wheel stud job myself one weekend. It hurts my pocket book but it is nice knowing everything else on the car is in tip top and will be going strong for long time.

Are you handy?
With nothing more than a ratchet and a $12 angle grinder, I can tell you how to swap your own stud.

So of course naturally after fixing all items something would go wrong right?! Just like when you wash yer car it rains!! Well I drove it home (35 minutes) from the dealership and parked it in the garage. Didn't drive it at all Sunday but when I got in to get to work this morning my check oil level lamp was flashing. Any ideas on what exactly could be wrong?? I'm going to check the level and add if needed but if that's not it I'm lost. Could it be the oil pressure sensor gone bad?? Or does the oil pump hold that much oil to when they changed oil and oil pump it just lost that amount that the pump usually stores?? Maybe a bad seal of the hondabond when they re-sealed it?

Should have just done the wheel bearing for the broken stud! Dealership will get that $500 out of you still. Haha, all joking aside, check the fluid levels and go from there. Is there any warranty on the work? Call the dealership and explain the issue, maybe they will look into it for free since they just did the work.

Also I was given a TLX to drive for the duration of the maintenance, here's my thoughts and quick review on it.
A. Exterior - 7/10
Thought the front end was sexy yet aggressive, and I loved the LEDs also. I liked this look way way better than the 4th Gen TL, that was a weird space ship looking car. Not taking away from anybody that has one and have do right by it because I have seen some nice one's. For me it was never a platform I wanted to build off of so to speak. The body lines were decent but I'll take the 3G's all day. I didn't care for the exhaust and the 2 red lights at the bottom of the rear bumper.
B. Interior - 6/10
Now here is where it gets a little dicey. I felt like the interior design could've been more elegant, it didn't have the feel of a luxury car IMO. The other bad part was that the color combo I got was black, silver, and this hideous brown leather. If it would've been just the silver and black I would've been happy. I know you can get interiors to your colors and all but knowing this was even an option was beyond me. It was also very different not having a stick of some sort to switch gears from Park to Drive! I felt like there was less room in the rear seats but a little bit more room in the trunk (I do have a 12" sub in the trunk so everything is bigger) Like I said I just felt like I was driving an Accord, with a sticker price of $45K I would've expected a lot more from the interior. There was plenty of space in the storage compartments and without a stick in the middle it appeared to have more room for those compartments.
C. Technology - 9/10
The navi screen was huge, very easy to plug in routes and thumb thru the options. I loved the double screens for the navi and radio, again very easy to navigate thru both of them. All too often with tech updates comes a confused how does this work process (my wife's Ford Flex SYNC system is the worst!) I loved loved loved the side/blind spot monitoring system! I'm notorious for cutting people off on accident becuz they're always hidden in that blind spot. Not one driver was pissed at me while driving on the freeway. My only beef with the Tech was the lane assist hazard. Every time I even thought about getting close to that white center line this thing would beep at me. Luckily after some searching I found a button and turned it off.
D. Engine - 9/10
I really loved this beast, now I wasn't sure what the exact specs are but I really enjoyed going thru each of the IDS settings....of course my favorite was Sport +. The car felt like it really wanted to get up and go, no beef here at all....nothing will be a 10/10 right?!
E. Overall - 7/10
Overall I'd give the TLX a 7, mainly because I always felt like I was driving a Grandma's car instead of a Luxury sedan. I had the feeling I was driving a new Buick instead of an Acura, for that much scratch I'd look elsewhere that's all. Not taking anything away from the guys and gals on here who have em cuz I have seen some sweet one's. I just think that when Acura made the 3G TL(S) they made their best TL, overall that is. The 3G was ahead of it's time in terms of body styling and it's just as sexy today as it was back in the day. Food for thought that's all.

I thought the white looked good - but - darker works too. Love the new shots even with the snow! I broke one of the studs on the front passenger wheel too lol - i've been too lazy to fix it, but is easy enough and not having to change the wheel bearing/hub is great in my book.
drop some more photos homie!

Yea saving bills is always a good thing IMO, especially with 3 kids. I keep planning to take the Cannon out to the Great Salt Lake and do some pics but I keep pushing it back

the i jdm toy is what I have and haven't had any problems with it....just gotta make sure you got some zipties so you dont have a rats nest. Between those, my switchbacks, and my HID fogs there is a lot of wiring that I need to clean up next summer
#240
Could you send me exact P?N that you ordered? I was on their website and it had an option to add a wiring decoder thing....the one's I ordered today didn't have that option. Something in me bones says that I didn't order the right thing. If not hopefully I can throw em in the fogs cuz I plan on going back to non yellow fogs in the spring.
