Wink BluE SIdE MarKEr MoD!

It was pretty easy. I got a soddering gun from Home Depot (14.95) and a small hacksaw the day my bulbs arrived and got started. I remember the first time I tested it after I completed the left side. I went outside and plugged it in and turned on my lights and the bright blue ambient light looked SOOOO amazing I was like, "YES"!!! "AWSOME"!!!

I followed this DIY post
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...t=side+mirrors

I plan on doing the same to the rear side markers, then getting the a-spec kit then getting the white on white sevas s-stars 20 in" and doing the grill mod. It's going to be a great summer at the beach pulling up with this puppy when I'm done.

good work ! and yeah, take care of the at least the rear side markers soon... right now there's a little too much action going on the outside with all the different colors... I like what you're doing, tho... it's gonna look sooo nice when you're done...

have you thought about clearing and blacking out your headlights? quick question, don't some states have some laws against blue exterior lights? I know I saw an episode of cops where some hookers in a 300 got pulled over because they had blue exterior lights (and then there was a whole bunch of funny shit goin on after that )

yeahhh that's a little illegal in California and Nevada, I'm not sure what other states it's illegal in too.

Stupid california has to take the fun out of EVERYTHING. No front side tints, and a required front license plate, no loud exhaust( that might be a good thing though ) etc...

It's a little different in NYC, we have to have a front plate but the blue lights are fine as long as the reverse lights arent blue but the turn signals (if they were blue) might get you a ticket or two.

But yea, speed balin TL, the colors are a bit much for right now I was looking at my car and it has orange lights blue markers and red rear lights. I was like hmmmm, I have to switch this up ASAP. So when the rear markers get here their gonna be blue and I'm waiting on that dude that does headlight mods on this forum to get pairs of oem headlights so I can just buy a set off of him and have him mod them. Because I have blue rockblockers on my current headlights and if I did the clear out mod on them the protectors would melt and fuck them up.

it's ilegal in NY too

the license plate lights have to be white, and so do the reverse lights

front turn signals can either be white or amber, rear turn signals can be either amber or red, and brake lights have to be red

side markers have to be red in the rear and amber in the front. when you get a ticket for blue don't come back bitching

haha seriously, especially when you're young.
I'm not acutally sure if that's true, but if I'm driving my TL I make sure I don't do anything that would get me pulled over, but if I'm driving a regular car like a Maxima, then I'm not as careful. I'm probably wrong, but to me the nicer the car looks the more attention it will get from the cops...

Nice mod! Is not my style of replacing light bulbs unless they are only h.i.d's (headlights) probably because in BOSTON cops hate them lights and they dont take shit from anybody an easy $100 fine and "improper equipment" written on the ticket I went through lots of them myself. Not disrespecting ur style like I said before looks good

nice man ... I hate all those rules about lights, tho, because some cars really look ugly with all those weirdass colors combos (in the same way 99-01 tail lights don't look as good as the 02, 03)... Good luck, tho! hopefully the cops won't give you too much trouble for it ... it'd be such a shame if you had to take them off again

Very Nice, where do you get the LED's and is it just simple plug and play or did you have to do some sodering?

Well, it's been a whole weekend and no cop problems. A couple in harlem that were walking looked at my car as if they liked how it looked. I'll keep you posted when I get those 20's also.

FYI, if you didn't replace the resistors, they're gonna burn out. 3 of us now have reported replacing our front side markers with white ones, and both mine failed within 60 days, one of brettalica's ahs failed, and one of foot3h's. Blue leds have almost identical specifications as white, thus, odds are , your gonna have issues in a few months.

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ht=side+marker

Needless to say, there's more to this mod than replacing leds, but we have yet to crack the code one what would make it last longer...

Not poo poo'ing the mod (although it's not for me), just trying to get you involved, hoping you can help us out.
