Base A-spec Vs. TL-S A-spec rear lip pics

I just figured this might help a bit with those who aren't sure of the differences between the two rear under spoilers of the TL and the TL-S (A-spec kit).

This might help a bit.

I always liked the look of the base a-spec over the type-s.
Sort of not fond of the two black[or whatever color the bumper is] piece in the middle-area.

Great info and comparison. If Type-S Aspec came in AM, I would get it, but I dont think it's really worth it for me to buy the lip and then have to get it repainted.

x2. Too much money and too much of a hassle for colormatching.

AM FTW!

Don't need to worry about colormatching if you buy the kit and let Tim painted, they did a perfect job in my body kit. AM FTW!

You guys drop a $100 at the drop of a hat for snakeoil P2R throttlebody spacers and whatnot... but won't spend the $100 most shops would charge you to repaint that lip.

Nuts.

ATLP quads FTW.

Yep there's one on here somewhere, I'll look for it after class for you hah.

But in short, you cut out the exhaust openings with a dremel about 1.5" to the left, 2" to the right, and I think about an " on the top. OR you can be a little bitch like me and get a Type S bumper haha

I think it was a little over $475 painted and shipped to my door, I got it from the Hondacuraworld group buy, but let me tell you the paint just matches my car perfectly they did a great job I will sure buy from then again.

Is there a way to get the 06 A-Spec rear lip kit onto an 07-08 TL-S? I realize the quad exhaust would be a problem and hopefully there's a work around for that. I think the older rear lip kit destroys the TL-S version as it's a cleaner fit and finish look instead of that gap in the middle look. I know a Ron Jon rear would be the other possibility but I think some of the lines from that are a bit too boxy looking.

I'm a noob at this and tried searching around and did find some information that you wanted to do the same for the front (06 Lip kit to TL-S front) that you would need a new front bumper but the question of the rear lip kits escaped me, after a while it's a bit confusing anyways. Hell, I don't even own a TL yet but am simply looking around as prices are on their way down.

Cheers,

You can put the base aspec lip on the type-s with modifications to the bumper or by buying new bumper. And no, you cant make quads fit a base aspec lip.

PrincelyBug has a type-s and put the base aspec lip by changing his whole rear bumper, but you can add the type-s lip by cutting up your bumper as well if you don't wanna spend the extra money on the whole bumper.

I agree I like this about the base but I like the diffuser style cutout piece on the type S, we need a combination of the two lol

I prefer the 06 A-Spec front spoiler much more then the 07 TL-S A-Spec front spoiler. The rest of the kits both look great. Just my opinion, I had an 07 TL-S with the A-Spec body kit and Eibach Pro springs.

I think 3-4 hours. But the car has to be cleaned b4. I was going to do it, but the constant weather sucks. Plus the rear bumper needs to be taken off. FK IT. If I had a huge heated dry garage I would do it.

IMO, on a wdp anyway, the base rear aspec is more aggressive, while the type-s is more classy or "euro" esque. All depends on the style of the car youre going for. I drive a WDP and right now since im on stocks, i have the base aspec cus it just looks crazy. im litterally beyond slammed. too much so in fact that i need to raise it after just driving for one week. haha just to divuldge a bit, i have been filling my car with gas by making multiple trips to a gas station with a gas can because im too low to pull into the gas station in my tl. im on stocks with rolled fenders and i still rub to the point where my tire getting ripped to shreds and my front bumper keeps popping out just from making 90 degree turns. probably really bad for the car? yes. gangster? hell yea haha but anyway comparing my car with the base aspec to some one like stl4louis or whatever (type-s maker vs type-s faker thread) who has the type-s rear, you can see a big difference from sporty to luxury. im definatly going type-s when i get my wheels.

Go to his profile page here:

https://acurazine.com/forums/members/oemacurapartstim-283146/

Under his username you will see "Send Message". Select that and then select "Post a Private Message". Include what part you are interested in buying and also your zip code so he can give you a shipping quote. He's a great guy to do business with.

No apologies necessary. We all had to start somewhere! Here's why you can't find the website:

"You knew me before as Tim from Hondacuraworld, but since my former place of employ closed the internet department, I'm now back with www.oemacuraparts.com and have re-upped my official sponsorship here."

Check this thread for different group buys and such run through him:
