It's a pretty sick setup and best of all the system is only like $350+ shipping and then another $70 or so for the immobilizer bypass module with tach output. Can't wait to get it setup for 1 touch start and remote start.

Gryph, how do you manage to open the trunk? I didn't see it, but is there a button on the remote?

I ordered it directly from Advanced Keys. The whole system is $370 with shipping.

The unlock button serves as the trunk release button too. Press it once it unlocks the car, hold the unlock button and it will pop the trunk.

It's been a while since I've updated this.

Haven't done many modifications since my last update but after 240k miles my original transmission finally gave out. Found an engine and transmission with 115K miles for about the price of a used transmission.

Since I was doing a full swap I decided to get all new engine and transmission mounts. Happy I did because every mount was shot. Didn't even have to unbolt a single one to pull the engine.

I also decided to do the B&M transmission cooler modification with Magnafine filter found here: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/116-diy-transmission-cooler-5at-magnefine-filter-lots-pics-754752/

Shot of the bay w/o an engine. With a little maneuvering I was able to pull the engine from the top.

All done. Took me about 12hrs with a little help from a friend to do the whole thing. Besides an issue with a corroded terminal ring it fired up on the first try, went into gear and shifted smoothly. Hoping this setup will get me close to the 400K mile mark.
