http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwruR5W42Wg

First mod im probably gonna do is an intake, im worried about suckin up water here in CT so ill probably do either a normal AEM w/ a bypass valve or a Hot air intake for sound only :-/

We'll see.

Just a heads up, AEM doesn't make a bypass for us. The biggest they make is 3" and our pipe is 3.25". U'd have to look somewhere else.

everyone thinks with a CAI rain = hydrolock.... WRONG

hydrolock only happens when you submerge the intake, and that needs atleast 1ft of standing water. same thing WILL happen if you have the STOCK intake!

do some research....

Am I reading this right... your saying that 1ft standing water will hydrolock the engine on a FACTORY intake box?? That cant be accurate.

meh give the kid a break. Maybe not you but 90% of everyone tested their car at one time or another; especially after they just bought it. Why you think you date girls before you marry them

Ok it was after midnight on a isolated road. The only risk I say was maybe a deer jumping out or getting a ticket. Other than that I say

And yeah I did hear a little clutch slippage on that baby.

Yeah you also forgot the fact that there were homes on the street, so hypothetically speaking if he did hitt a deer, there is a very good chance he could loose control and hit a home.

As you put it "testing" their car one time or another, is done on a track or a controlled environment were variables like that are not in the equation.

yea def a time and place to do that kinda retarded stuff...ive done it..but def not on a 2 lane road and iwth houses near by!

i wouldnt really worry about hydrolocking your car up unless you ahve monsoons in ct! which i highly doubt...agree with greco about doing some research and not listening to what your friends might say

Heh thanks for the comments fellas and no, i dont normally drive like that... i couldnt resist splurging though since i just bought it and yeah, i know all too well how dangerous that could have been on that street.

As for the clutch slippage i had VSA on so i believe thats why it sounded like that unless im wrong... if im wrong should i be bringing it to acura since its certafied and still under warrenty?

first hand experience proves you wrong sir, sorry. My integra had a CAI and i went through a puddle ( decent size but did not submerge car, enough to make a wave though) and the filter got nailed by said wave. Car bogged and i shut it off immediately. Little bit later i took the intake off and found water in the spacer right in front of the intake manifold. Maybe it didn't go into the engine but it sure came damn close, i wont take that chance again especially with a 16,000 dollar car.

That sound was not VSA. It was the clutch. Just make sure the clutch is fully engaged when you romp it. Takes some getting used to. I still haven't smoothed out my shifting completely and I've had my car for 8 months
