Lightbulb Brake light turn signal

Random thought... Is it possible to 1.add a strip of leds (red) behind the reflector located directly under the brake LEDs so that it shines through lenses to added a fourth brake light? 2. swap the blinker with the brake lights wiring, to have the turn signal stay on and take the place of the break lights? This will make the red LEDs a new blinker. Then the added led strip will act as another break light. Essentially the oem brake lights will blink and the turn signals will be on then brighter when the brakes are hit.

Wiring wise I'm kinda worried about how to wire up the lower voltage brake LED wire (5v positive I think) to the turn signals 12v source and have them work correctly.It should always run off the 5v then go to the 12v when the brakes are applied.

I will try to create some photoshops of my idea,design and wiring and add them soon.
Here is a test tail light I am working with. I may have to make something to keep the lower LED light from leaking to the oem brake LED section.

Wondering if anyone else has tried this, if it will be functional, safe,and look good?

The only thing I thought Sez was:

1> have a red flasher led wired right behind the reflector....I would only use this when its raining/heavy fog/snow etc to let the car know behind me to be cautious....like F1 cars have something when they enter the pit lane....

2> replace the 7440 turn signal with the 7443 and wire them so that they come on with the rear lights....imagine this:

-->
--

now when you brake

==>
==

when you indicate the side will flash like the front....

but i decided against doing any of these mods coz i didnt want my car to look like a Christmas tree LOL

its your car, your entitled to do what you want to it.

but man.... SMH.....

i don't even know the word to describe your car. it's not rice at all. it's worse. black red and blue wtf?

That makes sense. When I can I'll try to make a photoshop of all the lights on. Now I'm leaning towards just having my extra LEDs as a blinker with the factory blinkers. Maybe make the rear side marker blink too. My goal is to have a more noticeable blinker.

Installed

I went with DEPO Type-S tail lights, added a strip of LEDs behind the bottom reflector and wired it into the blinker.Also made the side marker blink too. About a week into having them installed the right tail light started fogging up. They look good but could be better so I'm doing what I should have done to start with and talk to AckTL and get a different pair from him. My new pair will be painted to match the car,removed diffuser,and LED blinkers.

I do have a video I can post later on how the blinker works. Yes it does look like Christmas lights even more but it does catch attention and that's what I was wanting to be seen.

Too much red IMO....Less is more.

Definitely needs a drop. Just a little bit at least.

April update

I got rid of the long side pin strips because a car wash ripped them, replaced the visors with nicer looking OEM ones,and replaced the rear backup light LED strip I had with two smaller strips.

Decided to do the right thing and seek help from AckTL. We went with OEM Type-s,removed the diffuser, added LEDs behind the reflector and painted the bezel to match the car. Because I hate taking the bumper off he cut the bottom mounting tabs off so I just have to remove the bolts from the trunk and pop out the tail light with the bumper on still. This helped when after installing them I noticed there was a piece of debris behind the lenses and all I did was take it off and aired the debris out. Talk about a time saver. Noticed one side sits out further but most likely the bumper fitment, you can only tell if you are washing the car or laying underneath it.

I will make another LED video after I install my replacement led strips in the front bumper and work out the trunk lighting with my new subs.

From AckTL ---

Once the arrived I tested the LEDs.

Like to give a "Great Job" to AckTL and a huge thank you to my girlfriend who removed all the screws on the bumper, helped me pull it off/pushed back on,and install the tail lights twice.

I love how you clearly said you want responses about the tail lights only but every jack ass here has to say some shit about your car. Opinion like assholes we all have them and there's plenty overflowing here! Anyways. I'd go with the cleared out like I have on my TL or the type-s' just to keep with the red theme.

It's the way I wired it. I took the Negative off the side marker and connected it to the Positive of the blinker so when the turn signal comes on it shorts the side marker temporarily. It's the same method I did on my old car with no issues. Seems like it would be a cop magnet but no problems yet.

hahaha....yeah you wont have cop trouble with that IMO

but yeah it would look cleaner if it did blink in sync....reverse the connections and if you dont like it, go back to how it is
