Talking '05 Acura TL first car!

so I've always been on acurazine looking through threads, reading up on guides and admiring most of the TL setups I've seen on here. But i told myself i wouldn't become a member until I got my first TL. Well ladies and Gents, here she is

always wanted a TL, but to have one as my first car feels beyond great. LMK what you guys think

Nice looking car, my first car was a 3G TL as well, but I always lurked the forums.

Looks great! You could consider swapping the taillights with the 07-08 versions if they fit the same (I think they're the exact same size, just with clear lenses).

I wouldn't swap the tail lights unless you got a custom set up or bought Type-S tails, I think the 07-08 tail lights look really bad, kind of choppy looking in my opinion. I like the looks of your car though, it's awesome that you found one with the A-Spec kit and wheels already on it. Is it actually an A-spec car or was that stuff added by the previous owner?

Previous owner only added the a-spec kit. It did come with navi though. Was sort of glad about that lol. And yeah I understand about the tails, but I kind of want some dark tails on it instead of that brighter red. Since it's a dark car

If you're gonna go darker the red stripe tails from endlessrpm would look good

I actually wanted a type-s but due to budget reasons, had to settle for my 05. But I'm loving it so far, no regrets. And I'm actually new to this whole car scene, so when it comes to abbreviations, I have no clue. Need a car mentor or something lol What are ATLP?

Yea I was under the same predicament, I was actually looking for a TSX or base TL during car shopping and accidentally found the Type S, but I had to get it.

ATLP is a car parts brand, they make exhaust parts and other things. Other brands that are frequently talked about alongside TLs include RV6, XLR8, EndLessRPM, etc. You can browse parts at either heeltoeauto.com or EndLessRPM.com

in my experience i started with getting the body in top shape. custom headlights make a big difference in the look as well as taillights. I started there and then got into the performance stuff

I tried starting with the headlights, I replace the bulb because I wanted bulbs with a color temperate of 6000k. I replaced my headlights and daytime bulbs to 6k bulbs. But they both don't look the same color. And I also changed my parking lights to LED bulbs, but I have to get a relay because of hyper flashing. But all in all I wanted to completely change my taillights to darker ones and change the whole headlight lamp to Type-S headlights

Car looks great! Get off on the right foot and get a new cap

Door handle cap, Heeltoeauto.com (if you get two, you can delete the keyhole on the driver's door for more security and a cleaner look!

Maybe I missed something, but why would two of them be needed?

I would try to bring the car up to par aesthetically before any serious mods, meaning if you have dings, scratches, cracked pieces, etc... , fixing those first. Another cheap mod is switching all interior lights to LED, takes about 20 minutes tops, maybe $25, and makes a huger difference at night.

lol he meant two because one of my caps on the right side passenger door is missing, and the second one would be to delete the keyhole. which doesn't sound like a bad idea since i don't manually unlock my car either way

I was actually trying to find something to fix or like clear some hairline scratches I have, and you think i can do all the interior lights on my own or should i take it to someone cause i actually wanted to do that as well?

the audio system sounds amazing in this car, to the point were i honestly don't want to add anything to the audio system. Previous owner left 6 CD's inside the disk changer, but they all had old songs from like 2004-2007 lol but they just proved how good the audio system is. only downside is i play my music from my iPhone, but since this car doesn't have an AUX input, I've been using a cassette to aux adapter. It sounds "alright" but the static gets annoying at times

Ahhhh, makes perfect sense now. Yeah I just ordered my keyhole delete a couple days ago actually. I love doing little inexpensive mods!
