04 TL - 18" BBS RS-GTs

Its been 2 years and still loving the car. I'm almost out of my busy season at work...so I figured I should post pics of the new additions. A proper photoshoot will be coming in a few weeks...consider this just the preview.

I was considering both the RJ Devotions and the RS-GTs for a long time. I ended up going with the BBS' though. After, thinking long and hard...I made the choice (not to say that the RJs are anything but great rims). (For those who remember the Koblenz's I had on my car...I bent three out of 5 rims...so I figured forged was the way to go).

More on the way...

looks nice, I like multi spoke wheels, but I think it hides the brembos too much.

nice car.

Thanks. The problem with bigger rims is the roads in NY. I travel to clients a lot so, I don't have a choice of what roads to take (or another car to take), since the TL is the daily driver.

18's are the highest I can go, with at least some peace of mind while driving. I have to tell you, the car is definitely a little faster off the line because these rims are lighter than stock...

I used to have Falkens...and the quality difference in just looking the way the rim is constructed is like night and day. It was seriously good looking, and I'm very happy with them so far. I was also considering the Volk LE37.

If I remember correctly, you have the CE28s right? Like those rims too...

Alright...more pics in a few days...you guys will keep me honest to that promise...

To answer some questions. The rims are 18x8 40 mm offset. Not much space between the brembo and the spoke actually. They are 20 lbs or so (two piece forged wheel), built in Japan.

I got them off Tire Rack for $579 each (it was on a closeout sale...not sure if it is still on).

Dang! Well I like better the wheels you have one there now. Is that an Aspec drop? Looks like it.

nice car.
I think they look great, and when he is driving around town, the spokes will show the brembos very well...

Everybody forgets about brake visibility might only be an issue when stationary, when you're moving you see the brakes easily.

Yep. It is an A-Spec drop. I was considering switching to the Eibach/Koni combo, but I don't want to degrade my ride quality. So for now...I'm sticking with the A-Spec.

Thanks for the comments guys!
