Made a whole in the bumper and attached it to the bumper support. Had to drill into it to get a strong hold....

Can someone explain to me what the function of the tow hook is for daily driving? Just wondering.

None at all unless you get stuck in the ditch... I mainly added the tow hooks for looks however living in CT getting stuck in snow banks can be common in the winter..

I live in NJ and we get plenty of snow, and sometimes people do crash off the road, but I don't plan on being one of those people. If I am, the last thing I'm worried about is how easy/hard it will be to pull me out.

"Clean" is definitely not the right word for it.

But, as long as you enjoy it, at least it looks like it is well done and not a hackjob.

Clean depending on the persons opinion can be the right word. Def no hack jobs on my car.

Hey where'd you get the CF hood from??? Also, is the front grill plasti-dipped? I have an 05 AM 6mt, and I may take some inspiration from you. Very clean (except for the tow hook imho).

Looks like 3M di-noc vinyl on the hood. 6MT cru is rolling deep in this thread! <3

Your car looks great! I love the CF hood and the cleared headlights, but it would be a lot better looking without the tow hook. It detracts from the clean lines of the 3G IMO.

clean != hole in the bumper with a big piece of metal sticking out. Again, IMO. More accessories stuck/bolted on = less clean.

But I'm not trying to crap on the guy's thread so I'm not going to reply to any more of these comments. OP takes pride in his car, takes care of it, and is sharing pics so I'm not hating on it. Plus, 6MT cru has to stick together.

Your headlights and hood look great. I've never seen a TL's hood wrapped in Di-Noc up until now.

I too am not a fan of the tow hook. If you get stuck, there's a hook in the trunk that you screw into the front bumper where that little circle is.

I have an old jpipe installed already, plus test pipe and an XLR8 catback exhaust. Not sure when I will have time for the precat install.

what you haters aren't realizing is that not only is it a towhook, but it's also a cupholder that will keep your drink cold. So you can drive while you drive and have a cold drink when you're done driving.

You know there is a factory tow hook that screws in to the front bumper, right? You can actually be towed using that one if you plan to go skating off the road out of control....... Maybe paint it pink or lime green.

JDM head lights

looks good, but why wouldn't you just detach the hook in the summers and put it back on in the winters?

Haha love this common, I've seen so many cars at carshows with all kinds of weird stuffs on their car hooks.

to OP: I think that dry carbon look of the hood looks good on a AM TL, not a big fan of towhook unless its all raced out but if you're into it, have you considered a different color hook ? I think an anodized gray would be sick

Yeah the OEM tow hooks are definitely up for any "towing" needs so I think that wasn't the original reason for them but whatev. I think we've all seen worse.

I do run tow hooks on my track car but with no bumpers the oem front hook is outta the picture and the rear one was right in the way of the diffuser I'm making, so I made up some custom mounts for them.

Meezy, the carbon fiber hood works! Drop it, get your wheels, consider an Aspec Kit.

What kind of wheels did you get?

Thanks for your thoughts.. I have received a lot of different thoughts.. I personally think it looks good. Once thr rims go on I think will look even better. Its difficult to think of ways to make my car look different from other TL's out there.. Little things like the "tow hook" everyone else is stuck on seperated my car from others.
