XLR8 Test Pipe Now Available!!!
We now have our own XLR8 Test Pipe available for the 3rd gen TL.

For sale here:
http://store.excelerateperformance.c.../i-285244.aspx
The XLR8 Test Pipe replaces the third cat with a straight through 2.5" test pipe. This helps free up exhaust flow, especially when installing a j-pipe. The pipe also includes tabs to reuse the OEM heat shield. Also includes hardware and gaskets.
XLR8 Performance Exhaust products are designed for function, form and style. Each exhaust part starts with T-304 stainless steel, known throughout the industry as the highest quality material practical for after-cat exhaust applications. All exhaust tubing is mandrel bent on sophisticated CNC machinery for a precise fit and uninterrupted exhaust flow. What’s more, the use of T-304 stainless steel flanges offers high strength and complete resistance to harsh elements. All hangers, resonators, and tips are T-304 stainless steel as well.

Emission test depends on how tight the regulations are. In my state, they don't use a tail pipe sniffer, just read the ecu.

I don't have this pipe, so keep that in mind.
I did the mid-muffler delete and resonator replacment (Dynomax) on the stock 5AT TL-S exhaust. Slight drone at low RPM (~1500) in 4th or 5th gear.
Added the ATLP J-Pipe. Reduced/eliminated the drone. Added the ATLP test pipe. That added back some slight drone in that same low RPM, high gear range.
You should NOT have an emissions problem. You have 3 cats. 2 "pre-cats"; one on the front bank and one on the rear bank. Then the J-pipe collector and then the 3rd cat.
As long as your pre-cats are in place, you should be OK. The car may not be ULEV II, bin 5 (or whatever), but you should pass. Also there is NO O2 sensor in the third cat, so no concern about the test pipe throwing a CEL or anything of that nature.
Edit: BTW/FWIW, I have to pass an annual NC emissions inspection. Last inspection passed no problem. Not a "sniff"/tailpipe test.

We are going to be raising the price on the test pipe shortly. The material we use is T304 stainless which is expensive. The introductory price of $125 is as low as we can go.
We might do a package for the j-pipe and test pipe when our stocking order of j-pipes arrives. It will be probably around $510 plus shipping.

u will not fail emissions for taking out the 3rd cat. there are no o2 sensors by it. only on the front and rear primary cat.
josh, technically it should be a race pipe. since many people are use to test pipe's being resonated. and race pipes being straight through...you know how people get confused easy
this install is a 5-10 minute DIY if you dont mind working on your back. just spray some bolt penetrator on the bolts/nuts, then remove, swap part and gaskets, rebolt and ur done.
