Not wot. It was my first time to make an in-car video. It was lightly raining, one hand on the wheel.

Agree with the doubt although. Now you see why I am addicted to the TL diet. Folks just boo-boo'ed on my TL Diet thread, calling me crazy for years. I don't blame you for doubting the 1/2 pedal statement because my car amazes me too sometimes. Cheers

Maybe we can edit the title of this thread since it's not really related to the j-pipe. Thanks.

Actually it's not too bad. I have been in the worse bumps lately with no serious issues. My car isn't that low; half a finger between the tires and fenders.

I would, but still not happy with the raspiness. Once people read the thread entirely, they will get thr full story.

However.......MOD, can you please edit my title to read:

XLR8 J-pipe installed......Pros and Cons!

Update for the better!

Just swapped the stock 3rd cat for a modified 3rd procat. I say modified, because the outlet of the 3rd procat is only 2.25" diameter (same size as the stock catback). I had a shop machine it out to 2.5" to match the rest of my exhaust.

This improved the mid and top end power. Better yet, alot of the rasp has decrease. The only down side is lost alittle low end torque, but not much. My car sounds ferocious!

Do you feel a lot of gain from low end with XLR8 J-pipe?

Ok, my mind and ears were playing tricks on me. I still have raspiness, but for some reason it just doesn't sound as sh*tty as before.

IMO going from a slightly leaky RV6 J-pipe to XLR8 was a BIG difference! Both the j-pipe and the deletes really compliment each other.

I was thinking about getting the XLR8 J-Pipe, but after seeing how low that sucker hangs it may have changed my mind. How bad are you guys scrapping it?

This is an old pic of mine

Unless you're dropped 2" or more scraping isn't an issue for 99% of the j-pipe owners.

I have a 1.2" drop and it does not scrap that bad. You just have to watch out for humps that you roll over w/o the first tires making contact.

A little off topic but has anyone noticed a very slight tininess/rasp with only an RV-6 j-pipe. I seem to have a slight tinny sound from the j-pipe. It sounds worse when cold but is still there when warmed. Could it just be the thinner walls of the j-pipe vs. the stock one?

Here is how mine sounds. This is a little 60-100 approx blast (approx 1/2 throttle).

My setup =
Precat Deletes --> XLR8 Jpipe --> RV6 Race pipe --> OEM catback(with midmuffler delete)

I can't believe I'm the first one to call on this. It's amazing you're jumping from 60-100 mph in six seconds with only half pedal, when it takes a C6 Vette and an E90 M3 full pedal to achieve the same time.

It was just used as a figure-of-speech. It was not meant to be taken literally. I don’t know if it was 50% throttle. It could had been 40 or 70% throttle. It was not exactly 60-100. The mph is just a very rough estimate.

As a side note, my data logging has revealed some very educational things. There are many cases where my car is just as quick with 75-80% throttle as it is with wot.

If you want to see some actual numbers (not casual conversation) to quantify my car’s performance, then click here and click here. In the second link, go to page 2 to see the 0-60 times.

And if this is not enough for you, check back this winter and I will have more “unbelievable” stuff for you.
