I see what you mean. Probably, next time Josh needs to have 10 exhaust systems in stock and if in case there are more than 10 people in the group buy group buy, then he can order more.

So thats how the res version sounds. I wonder how the no-res sounds. LOL

 

Let me see if my math is correct here. 8 tracking numbers have been e-mailed out, out of 10 orders. So that means that 2 orders have not shipped. But according to the list here:
NOT SHIPPED: SCS15, j1n, surlynkid, x2thez325 and myself dragonlord. That makes 5 not shipped.
Josh-these numbers are not adding up! I think we need better answers as to wht these have not shipped out. Now we have been patient enough, but the answers we are getting from you don't cut it anymore. Where are our exhausts?

I think some definitive answers are inline-today. Let's see some awesome customer service here that you say you have in other threads.

From the youtube vids ive seen i think its a lil bit raspy for the non res.

 

I have a touch of rasp in the res version, and I'm VERY happy I chose this one.

 

I didn't officially post in the GB thread but I'm also waiting for my exhaust. Josh was nice enough to let me in on the GB even though I was away and missed the official deadline by a couple days. I figured I'd be one of the last to get mine but sounds like a lot haven't gotten theirs. Need this to come in soon since I already have a buyer lined up for my ATLP exhaust.

 

Got mine on Friday before the Tracking number was emailed to me. My fiance' had to drag it inside the house by herself because I was leaving for the weekend right after work. "What the hell did you buy?" Haha. Friday is the day it goes on, if I can wait that long.

 

Just curious what made you switch from atlp to xlr8?

I'm in the same boat as Jweb12. Josh was nice enough to get me in the group deal 3 days after the deal had ended. I apologize to everyone as it seems the extra orders delayed the production and delivery to those 10 who made the payments on time.

No specific reason really. Wanted something a little less aggressive in both sound and appearance. I honestly don't think there will be much difference sound-wise, even with the resonated version, but we'll see. The GB came at a time when I was trying to decide what I wanted to do so I figured I'd go for it.

 

I was not on the group buy but paid straight up full price and got it in 3 days. Man was I excited.!!!! I couldnt stand to wait 6 weeks. I don't know how you guys did it.. What is worse than waiting is getting it early, Installed same day and 10 minutes after install I have an extremely loud Buzzing, vibration ,metal on metal sound at 2200-2800 RPMS . I mean loud. Which is basically my crusing range. Its actually embarrasing to drive by other cars when the noise starts happening. Now I have to wait to get a new muffler built and shipped after all. LOL,.., In the mean time I have to deal with that horrible sound.. Spoke with Josh and was great about about helping me and he determined there is an issue with the mesh screen inside one of the muffler expanding when it gets hot causing that noise. Now I will be waiting like you guys after all. OH well ...LOL!! Have fun all and enjoy your XLR8.....

 

Hey Josh, can you give the people that didn't receive a tracking # or the exhaust itself an idea as to whats going on? I'm just a little lost in this whole situation now. I guess 8 tracking #'s have been sent out and there are still 4 of us without anything. I don't know where we're at now. Can you just give me an update to clarify whats going on, thats all. Thank you.

 

If I had them in stock I couldn't have done this deal. Everyone got about $200 off the exhaust system price (when considering the shipping charges too) b/c they were willing to wait for the GB. There were some additional delays but it is a GB and these are made to order.

Just be patient a little bit longer and we will get the rest of the tracking #'s.

 

I finally get to hear the resonated version, sounds good! Do you have any clips inside the car?

That is correct it is just a defect and shouldnt sound that way.

 

I dont as of yet, but I can make a vid if you like. It sounds wonderful with windows up, and I can have a conversation on HFL with no problems.

 

i heard the ATLP on a TL-s last sunday and they say that ATLP is louder than the XLR8. i thought the ATLP would be louder then it was. gr8ness97 your Vid makes it seem really loud.... maybe i just had my volume up really high lol

anyways i think i will be VERY happy with the noise level of the XLR8 res version. also probably less drone once its broken in more and theres carbon build up in the pipes.

 

I apologize on behalf on all of us for being inpatient. To be honest though had I known the wait would be almost 2 months I would have paid the full price and picked it up at your shop. I have alot faith in Excelerate's products so the wait will be all worth it soon.

When are some XLR8 promo products going to be available so we can show off.

The install wasnt very long, but I went to an exhaust shop to have it done. With two people, it took them less than 45 minutes. Really quick.

No other mods for now. The resonator isnt big like the stock resonator is, so I expected just a hint of it.


LOL. When you get on it, you def hear it. When I first installed it, it had quite a bit of drone, especially during cruising. But as it broke it, it settled down a bit.

 

Do you have any other mods on your exhaust?

i only have the XLR8 Jpipe right now and im going to add the RV6 res test pipe when i put on the catback

Yeah. hopefully i get it before you move or else your gonna have a long ass drive up to get the stock mufflers/tips.

 

You shouldn't have any rasp, none. The only way you could have rasp with this setup is if you were running precats and even then you may not have it depending on the rest of your setup. You're the first person I've ever heard of that is getting rasp from a catback alone. For example, I'm running a non-res ATLP (for now) with a j-pipe and hfc (have also run a race pipe) and never had a hint of rasp.

Not trying to bust your balls, just very surprised by this.

 

Got mine today. With the uninstall of the stock, it took me about 2 hours with the back of the car up on jacks. Not too bad at all, considering I've never done an exhaust before. Only drove it for a few miles so I'll pass judgement later. Hearing the res and non-res vids, I can't tell the difference (I got the quad res version for my TLS). I thought it may be too quiet but that's not the case. I'm kinda hoping it'll quiet down after a while in fact, as I do mostly highway cruising to/from work!! The only other mods are an ATLP v2 j-pipe and AEM v2 CAI on the car as well.

was that a 2 person job for you? i was hoping about 2 hours with 2 guys who have never done an exhaust swap before.

 

Believe me the RES version is still very loud and yes you still have drone. At low RPMS say 2,000 hit the gas and drone!! you hear it believe me. The Res is very small its just barely bigger than the pipe itself.. Its so small its hard to believe it does anything. You still get all that loud awesome sound. I actually wish it was more quiet.

 

How long have you had it for? did it get any quieter over time?

 

Its been about 3 weeks and no it hasn't got any quieter but I only put about 500 miles on it so far. I hope it will settle down a little.

 

Maybe its what you and I consder "rasp". To me, it just sounds that way inside the car. But full on rasp like with no resonator...nope.
