big brake conversion

I have a 2006 base model with nav just like yours and i did the big brake conversion and you basically gotta get the nuckle assembly and it just bolts on.you probably best off going to a junk yard and get it because if you try to piece it
together its gonna cost you a fortune

We concluded in the other thread that a factory Brembo "Type-S and 6mt" brakes would be more expensive than an aftermarket 13" kit.

Search and you will find people that did the conversion. I think it was around $2,000. You can get the Rotora 4 piston 13" kit for around $1,500. Better brakes and less money and you don't have to swap out the spindle. I got mine used off of a member here for $800.

Wilwood makes a 12.6" front kit for $800 which is larger than the TL-S 12.2" brakes.

$2,000 will get you Racing Brake's top of the line kit which is awesome. Or it will get you Rotora's 13" front and upgraded stock size slotted rears with upgraded pads.

I have stocked sized slotted and cross drilled rotors on my car with ceramic pads and the damn thing stops on a dime...cant imagine needing to do a whole brake kit upgrade

The BBK definatley won't reduce one stop stopping distances which really showed when one of the mags stopped sligthly quicker with the 5at than the 6mt. In fact, some of the aftermarket kits can hurt one stop distances because they can move the bias to the front. I ended up going with stock sized slotted rear Rotoras with a very aggressive pad to bring some of the bias back to the rear.

However, after repeated hard stops, the larger ones won't fade as easily. This is where the BBK shines.
