What's a 3G TL top speed?

Its limited to 152, but I heard the auto only goes 150, but I could be wrong. The guy who we test drove with told us he "go one hundid feefty on highway!!!"

Done 145, engine was still pulling. Surprisingly the car felt tight and in control.
Done 175 on a zx-12 but that's a different league altogether.
Please no "that's irresponsible, dangerous, stupid...etc" comments thank you

Not a Blowhole
1) All cars have a drag limitation - the issue is whether that is above any other limiter, such as fuel cutoffs
2) Limiters are almost always based on legal concerns over tires, or in places like Europe, by agreement (250 kph for example)

Is there no limit?

Our tires are rated for a sustained 165 MPH.
I don't think a TL would see more than 155 unless it was downhill with a following wind. :-)
Acura doesn't need to limit the TL's speed because the laws of physics (drag) already do that below the capacity of the "W" rated tires.
PS: The coefficient of drag for the 3rd Gen TL is .29. That's the same as a C5 Corvette.
The coefficient of drag for an A-Spec TL is .28, the same as a C6 Corvette and a Lexus LS 430. Huh???? Yes, that's what they say. Size doesn't matter: streamlining does. Cd is a product of frontal area and wind resistance so that a big car can have a lower Cd than a small one if it's designed aerodynamically. The measurement is not empiracal but relative to the two-dimensional frontal area.
(I hope I said that right. If not, the engineers will correct me.)

According to Road & Track magazine the top speed of the TL they tested was 147MPH electronicsally limited.

The TL will do 150 in 4th gear in the 5AT. In fact, the owner's manual says not to downshift from 5th to 4th at speeds greater than 149 MPH. (Page 185 in the 2004 manual).
The only limiter the manual talks about (that I can find) is a rev limiter. As I said before, in 5th gear that would be over 200 MPH. I don't think we need to worry about hitting it in 5th gear unless you drive it over a cliff.

Taken mine to 130, and do short stints of 110-115 every week. Usually set my cruise at 85-90. I travel a lot in the flat plains of Illionis. 110 is about as fast as I need to travel in any car, always seem to catch up to slower moving cars quickly at that speed anyway, even in the sticks.

165 mph on zx9 on the street , 150 on the track when I raced a fzr 600. raced a porsche at 135 MPH on the highway and gone a 145 on clear straight in my Honda S2000. looking to go faster when I ge the new corvette z06.

I'm going to admit this..
On the way home yesterday the road was entirely empty at 4am on the highway [or freeway].
I had just got out of the service station because I had to take a leak. The exit road is aprox 300 or so meters in length before it merges onto the actual highway..
So I let off the clutch and began to floor it from first.. I hit the rev limiter on each gear till I was in 5th going between 230-235 [from what it seemed] on the speedo. RPMs was at roughly 6.5K. I was unable to reach the full 240KM/H and I wasn't in 6th yet.
The car seemed to have very good control at those speeds.. but then again I was only going straight.
It gave me a mad adrenaline rush... but things wizzed by so fast that I don't think I want to go that fast anywhere except the dragstrip again.

'07 - '08 TL-S MT - 148 - 152-ish
'07 - '08 Base and TL-S AT = 130 - 135-ish

I've had mine past 150mph and while it goes 150mph very nicely in a straight line, you don't want to turn at all going that fast. I did it one night on a freeway I wasn't familiar with, a corner came out of nowhere and the rear end stepped out a little on me with big trees bordering the freeway. I've never been so gentle with the wheel, making sure I didn't overcorrect at all. I never tried that again. The TL is not stable at that speed in anything but a straight line.

You were good man, I was just zeroing in.
But I might have made it worse - now that I think about it, I am not sure about the '07 - '08 base. They might be 150-ish too.
The '07 - '08 5AT TL-S seems to be limited the same as the 3.5L RL. Supposedly/Theory is that has something to do with the shared tranny.

I've had mine to 140 for a short burst. I have to admit it was pretty smooth at that speed and had quite a bit left, but a quick vision of standing before the judge brought me back to reality.
For what it's worth, I had a C5 Vette up to 155 and that thing felt like it was going to fall apart on me, where as the TL felt smooth as glass at 140.

They say the Auto TL-S is limited to 130-ish. Maybe the base '07 - '08 too, but I am not positive about that.

my 07 5at TLS cuts off at 130, im a little confused as to why the 6mt cuts at 152 and the auto at 130, anyway to disable that? it gets to 130 quick with the things i have done to the motor but cuts right outi know you cant chip these cars to remove throttle cutoff but there has to be something if the 6mt doesnt cut till 152.

Three Wheelin'
Geared out my h22 accord at 145 with my calculations (speedo was pegged over 130..used vafc/gearing/tire size to caculate). That was scary. The TL feels nice though its a lot more solid car. I just hate the steering in it feels light at low speed. I would hate to feel it at high speed. The accord I had was stable up to that speed but the brakes were not up to par as I noticed that part was the scariest ride of my life.
