What To Do For HP Increase
Ok i want(need) more hp. I hate the sound of exausts thats out. I dont want to risk damaging the engine with a supercharger thats out. They have not yet had a good company make a chip yet. We already have a cai stock. What to do for more hp in this case anyone?

they may say the stock intake is a "cai" but an aftermarket intake will greatly reduce the restriction on the air flow and provide with cooler air - thus more power. That is the main upgrade for the 3rd gen now (other than the 2 you said you dont want to do)

.:KCCO:.
the stock 'cai' isnt really a CAI.
look at the schematics of it. open the hood. look for yourself.
it deffinitely is a better instake then most stock vehicles, but still not as good as an aftermarket short-ram or CAI

One on the right for me
Get a muffler shop to build you a free flowing exhaust, get a different CAI, there are three out on the market, mixed reviews on all of them. If you are looking for a lot of power gains without the help of forced induction look for a different car, for the TL is pretty much maxed out otherwise.

No headers, sorry. Let's face reality. You bought a car that is virtually "unmodable" with out spending a ton of money. Maybe you could add a supercharger when (or if) it becomes available for 3 or 4 or 5 grand. That should give you a few ponies if the engine can hang together. Why don't you just enjoy the car as it is, or as was earlier suggested, get a more powerful car.

even if they made chip(which they don't) the hp increase will be so little it would not be worth it. instead of just looking at hp consider getting a set of good tires. better traction improves everything. you'll accelerate quicker, handler better and stop better. not enough credit is given to good tires when it comes to performance. most people just look at hp numbers.
