Waarnty after installing supercharger
Hello, I want to install a supercharger but don’t want to blow the warranty out. Did someone try to install the supercharger thought the dealership and keep the warranty?

It helps greatly if you can find a dealership that is a Comptech dealer also....that is your best bet as they are likely to be "friendly" towards modifying the TL. Even some non-Comptech dealers are ok with it...just depends on the service manager at the particular location. In our area...the same dealer....one day..."no...we dont do that type of thing here"....a few months later after service manager change...."sure...we are an authorized CT dealer"....so it can even change day to day also.
There's a guy here who spliced a simple power to install a navigation/DVD converter... 9 months later his Nav dies, and the dealer refused to warranty the Nav.

I hope you have it in writing. If you don't you will probably have a problem getting your drive train fixed under warranty should you ever need it. Look into the Acura/Honda 5spd auto inspection/recall. It took a long time before Acura admitted there was a problem and did something about it (even without any mods). I bet many people filled out Acura's claim reimbursement form after the fact.
The supercharger certainly fits the normal warranty exclusions. If your dealer is willing or kind enough to do the repairs under warranty I'm sure there will be no problem in getting that fact in writing if it's true.

damn, i haven't thought about that.... good looking out bro...
If you install an Eaton M62 supercharger (non-intercooled) on a TL engine and the seat stops working, no dealer in their right mind would not honor Acura's warranty. They have nothing to lose, Acura will reimburse them for the labor and parts.
However, if you install the Eaton blower and scatter the engine (i.e. fire the connecting rods through the engine block), how can you even ask for a new engine? Wouldn't you be slightly embarrassed?
You have to rationalize the situation. Another thing you guys need to find out is if the Comptech blower will be CARB certified. If it is, the dealer shouldn't be able to fight you at all unless the blower directly caused the engine to fail.
I went through all this with my '95 T-Bird when I added a supercharger to it.
