videos of mid muffler and resonator delete

i have a 04 TL 5AT, the first video is after my stock tl had its mid muffler removed. the second video is with the resonator was straight piped after the mid muffler was removed. i've since gotten the stock resonator welded back on because there was such an annoying drone in the cabin from 2200-2700RPM. it feels like it runs better with only the mid muffler removed, i still have a stock intake and am undecided on what to do about that as well.

yes, parts out only. i went to a muffler shop and they cut it out and welded in stainless steel pipe with 2 small bends in it's place for $60 which took 20min. it was a very wet morning, i started my car and let it run for 2 min, shut it off and then started the video. i was blowing out all the moisture

i like it better with the resonator back on, the drone in the cabin from 22-2700RPM drove me crazy. once i get an intake on in the spring i'll see how that sounds

Cool Stage 4 is muy good.

After reading the thread, listening to the audio (THANX!), I stopped by STP (Super Tuning Performance) in Van Nuys and talked to Koko. He was familiar with the different stages, and suggested I try Stage 4. I did. Awesome. Not too loud, especially w/ windows up, and my fellow old dudes think it's righteous. My kids have new respect for dad... talk about street cred! Get on it and it might as well be a 348! STP's offer was that they'd weld in the resonator labor-free if I thought it was too loud. The entire job took all of 10 minutes. Rock on.

dedudester - do you not get a loud raspy drone around 22-2700RPM? glad the video helped, where in the SF valley do you live? i have family in tarzana.

ckya - i got it done at Zoro's Discount Muffler in mississauga. good guys there and they did really fast work. where in t o do you get work done on your car? i haven't found a good place yet.

man that's rediculous, i paid 60CDN!! if the guy is good and quick it's around a 10min job, if he takes his time it's max 20min from the time you pull the car in the garage till you're backing out and already paid up. see if there's an independant local shop that will do it for a better price
