What about doing a 'use stock tips' option that didn't have any tips? This way you could do the Porsche tips catback for the base TL with a 'use stock tips' option for those who want square tips. Or just buy some stock tips and have a 'stock tips' option.
People with custom magnaflow exhausts have been doing this quite a bit (myself included).

Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer custom rectangular tips. But if you can't get them made at a reasonable price then at least there would be an option (use stock tips) for people who want the sleeper look.
BTW, how much does the tip affect the tone of the exhaust?

Mike, I have a question. Are you pushing the Porsce tips because you like them, or because we like them? It seems more people want a variant of the stock tips. I thought you said so yourself that a lot of people aren't feeling this Porsche setup (with me being one). So since there are a LOT of people that want the stock tip base setup, why isn't more time being spent on that one?

...I think I got the point the first time around..

I remember reading somewhere that Comptech said they didn't increase the piping diameter too much because there weren't any sig gains, so they kept it pretty conservative. I don't know if that was BS or not.

all exhausts for this car should be like 2.5" from the catback, and 2.25" from the Y pipe
Thats how comptech, ATLP & XLR8 made theres.. not sure about Greddy though, but its probably the same. Seems to be the best bet.

Im in for the Porsche look!!!! How long will I have to wait till this comes out? What I mean is the base TL exhaust. I was planning on purchasing your other exhaust the dual tip I think it looks super sexy but I would have to replace the rear lip and hack the bumper so this would be better off an exhaust specifically built for my ride. That sounds good too. so what are estimated production dates? Will it be before the end of the summer?

yessir! Porsche Tips are nice, but damn, I much rather prefer the square tips.

i got an idea...
how about using square tips like the stock ones but a little bigger and more flush to the bumpers exhuast cut-outs having bigger diameter piping for the tips to the muffler. also using stainless steel mufflers thats shinny kind of like the greddy SP's?

I actually think this looks bad ass and it's starting to grow on me a lot!
Do excuse the rugged photoshop lines, and do use a bit of imagination of how it would look in real life. The tips will be slanted with the downwards curve of the exhaust.

I don't know...I REALLY like it..it doesn't look good on the picture because it's 2-D compared to the rest of the body. But in my mind I think it would look sweet sauce.

FAWKING HOT!
Put me down as #1 on the list, as long as it fits the RJ rear! I'll be your test car!!
This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for!
PM me and I'll test it out!

How about a side view? Looking for something subtle.
How about tucking them up a bit and making them a little wider? Are these going to be a custom design or are you looking to use an existing tip?
Definitely like the direction you're headed in.

I think this looks hot!
Would like to see sideview concepts especially how the tips would be cut.
I think yer thinkin' right here. It doesn't have to be overbearing and def. not ricey just functional and classy for us base TLs.

I really like the new design. Definetely more interested in this one than the porsche tips.
If you're looking for the stock look, why not just keep the stock exhaust and do one of the stage 1-3 mods?
