were you able to install, if not, just order a custom made boomslang.us harness, last I emailed them they said it was like $150 shipped
I'd be weary about cutting/splicing into the factory harness

i've been seing people talk about running rich/lean lately... especially with the RV6 cats... i had no issues.. i ran usual.. a little rich in lower band.... 12~ throughout the middle, and like 11 at peak
we really need to start breaking some ground in the tuning section.... i wish the place that did James, did a before and after, so we can get some real hardcore numbers in paper

lol i already did it on paper and ripped my motor apart at school....intake spacers j pipe make it run lean.....we think its beneficial buts its not.....check ur plugs...thats the ultimate determining factor.... the o2 sensors are seeing something more than we are feeling. its not horrible where im at with the motor... but i dont want blow back... not a good result of lean bro. if the computer feels something wrong itll start running the car rich but we are adding a lot of induction features n nothing to tune it. the faster this motor runs the less monitoring its capable of ("stock" intake spacer or spacers and pipe mods.). High perf o2 sensors would be ideal. plus they have 5 wires in them which isnt normal. buuuutt they are monitoring wide n narrow bands on the car so that can be expected but still not normal. i got the VAFCII a few nights ago I emailed boomslang and its 180 for the harness and I also called apexi they said it compatible but cant provide support for it because they dont have it listed in the book.

I have learned so much in the last year from using the best ECU tuning and monitoring software for my other vehicle (Nissan). Being able to monitor timing, A/F, air temps, GM/S, etc, is a real eye opener. It really allows you to quantify the different mods and see/feel the results. It leaves the guess work out and you know what your engine is doing...
Someone close to Hondata needs to kick down their door and let them know there is a market for the 3rd gen TL and they should step up. When they tried before, we didn't have J-pipes or cat deletes available so there should be more gains to be found and getting a corrected and optimized A/F ratio equals REAL gains in power! The couple of members that were fortunate enough to get Hondata tuned reported nice gains. Come on Hondata, support the Acura community even if it's just for MT cars.
Sorry for highjacking your thread...

I have the vfac neo for my car. Monday Im have Bisimoto tune it to my NOS and other add-ons. I can tell you this, even before Bisimoto tunes my 04 TL, it has massive gains.

and ducati thanks....but ive seen some of the equip hondata uses to tune....its basically the same junk they give the techs to slightly mod the car from the ecu. honestly its not realtime and i wouldnt bother wasting my time trying to force them to help us...they dont care once the car is off the showroom

Good to know man. I appreciate your honesty and the research you've done. I kinda had the feeling that was the case with Hondata. Especially since they gave up on tuning the TL. It's hard for me to believe the Acura/Honda ECU is smarter than the other manufactures ECU's and is able to compensate for bolt-ons to maximize power. Is there any company that does "real" ECU tuning for Honda/Acura's?

Its not the case in all scenarios with hondata....dont get me wrong. This car does need tuning by someone who knows how to tune it properly because they arent all the same...in aspects of engine breakdown and the way its been driven....so Id tell the person whos tuning to drive it around see how it feels.... then do a bunch of checks based on what they felt... and tune it from there.

well i can tell you if you plan on putting a VAFC or NEO on your car, it would be a wise investment to buy a wideband as well. Use that to keep it stoich when you mess with the fuel, etc. b/c when you just mess with the vtech all you're gonna do is lose pwr...I have dynos to prove that

vafc and neo isnt a vtec controller only dude. it controls all aspects of the air fuel and bands. im not interested in making the vtec louder or even changing the rpm range in which it engages. Dynos dont tune ur car based on ur vtec dude so i dont know what ur talkin about... id liek to see dyno results based on what ur talking about.
