Upper Race cat convt.

anyone ever run upper race cats with a 3rd cat? i only came up with this idea to use the 3rd cat to burn excess fuel so, no smell. i dont care for large increase in power just 5-6hp is good. im thinking of getting the lower 02 pigtails and lengthen it to the behind the 3rd cat. anyone have opinions or reference would be nice, btw i search and nothing came up.

( someone is selling it to me for 100$) SO WHY NOT RIGHT?

What are "race cats"? Are you talking about test-pipes/pre-cat deletes (PCDs) or high-flow pre-cats (HFPCs)?

If they are E-Shift Pro Cats, a lot of people had problems with them. Not sure if they were limited to SC guys.

No one has done it, dave, you're the first. Don't search because you won't find 8 years worth of info on the subject.

So here's my prediction... Dave asks a question, gets people to reply and then starts trolling. Thread turns into a flame war and gets locked. With that said, I'm out and to the others, have fun with it but don't waste much of your time on suggestions, they will fall on deaf ears.

i hate cars is wrong for saying that. prejudging a good thread is wrong. i mean upper test pipes. my idea is to run those upper test pipes but keep a o.e 3rd cat to kill the fuel smell. i dont care for much power increase but quicker acceleration is what i want. im thinking of running long o2's custom crimped with butt connectors behind the o.e 3rd cat. now HAS ANYONE DONE THIS?

If you can act normal, I'll give you a real answer...

This has been done on here before, just for the smell as you mentioned. However, you need to clarify what you mean by race cat. Do you mean a high flow cat or do you mean a test pipe like a precat delete?

I don't believe in high flow cats when there are other options because "high flow" is relative. High flow cats are still much more restrictive than a straight pipe.

That's not a bad idea to locate the 02s after the 3rd cat to prevent a CEL. It's actually a very good idea.

Your idea would have very little smell, no CEL, and better power. Keeping the 3rd cat also reduces the chance of a raspy exhaust. I would try it for sure.

You can make your own but you can also buy the 02 wiring harness extender as well to keep from chopping into your harness.

^How do you deal with both pairs of O2 sensors? Mount all four into the exhaust before/after the 3rd cat?

The primaries have to stay in the same place as they're used for A/F correction. The other two would go after the 3rd cat if you don't want a CEL.
