...under the knife.....

Well I have had my Magnaflow resonator sitting around for some time and decided to have the shop cut it in and remove the mid muffler. It took some time to be okay with someone cutting up a perfectly good $32K car.....but I can't get past the fact the stock exhaust note is too tame for the performance of the car. without the tone being totally obnoxious, I at least want the guy n the Mustang GT next to me to think twice ;-)

You should post a before and after sound clip as I am contemplating the same. Will be purchasing the J pipe in January and have heard that the tone does not really change so while I am installing the J pipe I would put in the resonator as well.
Good luck with the install.

Good choice. I think you will enjoy the new tone after the resonator is welded in.

Got her back....WOW!!...I love the sound...it's about as close to the sound of a Z or G37 as I think the TL can get (without a full exhaust rebuild). I think it sounds better than my buddy's 335xi. The best part is, it's barely noticebable from the cabin. I didn't flog the car too much, but i did get to drive it up to about 65mph. Totally worth the $$$. FYI, I went with the Magnaflow resonator....Meineke charged me about $125 parts and labor....like SicSix's job, they had to create a piece of mandrel bent tubing and redo the mount. So far, very pleased.

(I do have before and after videos, but I'm away from home this weekend and won't get to editing the video until Monday)
