Type S turbo charged on E85

I’m looking to turbocharge my type S I’m buying next week similarly to how Utah TSX did. I want to go low comp high boost (15-18lbs) I know I’ll need pauter rods, colder plugs. But I’m looking for options on cams, as wells as good pistons for low comp. also he did water meth but I’ve been considering and studying E85 instead for its cooling abilities ( is it feasible to run both? Or straight meth with E85). Any suggestions? Does anyone know someone who can build another manifold like his? Or just trial and error on my own?

I don’t have any experiment but we have a stick and mig welders out the farm though. Gotta learn sometime right?

maybe you can use the MIG, it might get too hot.
TIG for aluminium

I was planning on using 304 SS for the manifolds to the turbo

For pistons check out p2r halferland performance and slickfab all sell them don't know exact specs off the top of my head but they all offer pistons, cams and I believe rods I know halferland does at least they have 1000hp j35 rods may be more cost effective if your worried about that at all bisimoto also does cams

My main concern is just doing it right the first time and getting as much power as possible without breaking skirts and crap. End goal will be 600+ whp AWD lifted on 245/65/17 off road tires. Running at least E85 maybe straight meth as well. If needed I’ll switch headers but I’d rather not just cause I like the design especially with the turbo manifold in the pic.

also does anyone know of any decent roll cages or should I just do that myself too? I know how to fabricate the metal just limited experience welding... and anyone know of a 500 amp alternator or a way of running dual alternators (other than taking out PS or AC)? Thinking about putting my 12’s (4000rms) in for shits and giggles.

no roll cages that I know of probably have it be custom and for alternators idk if anyone makes one that's 500 but from car audio experience I know mechman makes ho alternators and also Ohio generator and js power

there’s a couple that are 300, mechman only makes up to 240.... I’m thinking if I get bored enough I’ll make a gear box off the rear axel and run a single wire 500 amp off the rear diff ( not belt driven like the racers but literal custom built gear box to get the proper rpms)

A few of us have gone the turbo route, I'm a j32a3 (06) who blew a stock engine due to insufficient ring gap in stock form and went with a new build blueprinting everything with Pauter rods and custom Wiseco pistons.

I was running on boost for about 10K miles and started seeing increased blowby and have been running NA ever since. Kinda lost interest with all the tuner bullshit out there. I've still got everything and I'm considering putting the turbo back on. As far as E85 vs meth injection or both, I would personally stay away from depending on meth. If you run out and don't know realize it immediately, it could will be bad.

You may consider going the Rotrex SC route vs turbo. The boost is different but it's easier on the transmissions. A lot of people have shredded 3rd gear dyno tuning (6MT). There is a kit out there with various levels of HP available including E85.

Do some searching, sponsor rules here prevent me from giving the source.

Hope this helps.

I can't find them on the bisi website for some reason but back when I was looking they were around 1000 and halferland charges 645 so you wouldn't save any money unless he charges $400+ for shipping. He claims he did tons of research and found a cam grind that works best. How much of that is true? I have no idea or experience with either cam so can't comment on the outsourcing only on price.

facebook has lots of posts about halferland products, like I said before Bisi outsources! They use a company called webcams or webregrinds and are cheaper.

Went to check web cause they're directly mentioned on the bisi site and there's no option for a j series either Acura or Honda so not sure if they don't make anymore or what. I don't know what the Facebook posts say cause I heard the Facebook group is terrible and didn't bother joining. I don't know anyone with their cams only their porting services and crank pulley but everyone seems to be happy the work is good especially for the price.

Again I personally haven't heard anything bad about him shipping times are a little slow but that's it. If there's products to stay away from or something I'd love to know jsut don't know anyone who has bought them
