Is the tl-s exhaust that much better? Or are you just doing it cause quad-tipped mufflers?

Sorry to bring up an old thread but is this true? I thought the type s exhaust had a lower cel or something which made it more free flowing?

Type S quad tips are ~3.5" in diameter and the TL base bumper allows for up to 3" diameter tips. ...Or something like that. At any rate, it won't fit. I have a base TL and I'm trying to get Type S quad tips myself.

The type S catback is a 2pc catback... The right muffler is one pipe from catalytic converter, the left pipe is bolted from the split... Using the type S mufflers on base piping requires that you cut n weld the right muffler, left one bolts just fine... Also to fit the type S on base you will need to cut your base bumper... Or buy a type S rear bumper...

As far as our aftermarket exhaust systems go, a TL base won't be able to fit the quad tip without bumper modifications, or a Type-S bumper; and I see that being the same across the board.

I'm not sure about OEM swaps (or if that's what you're planning to do), but I'd plan on switching bumpers or some cutting for that too.

If you're looking for a full system check ours out here: EXH-UA7-R - XLR8 Exhaust Systems - Excelerate's Honda & Acura Store - Japanese Performance Specialist

Happy modding! PM me if there's something we can help you with!
