a couple of us did already. it fits, it works, but since none of us did the install without a before/after, we don't know the exact power increase. ussi, myself and a few others did it. do it, and get a before and after dyno and you'll be a hero. make sure you don't do any other bolt ons at the same time. thats why i can't give you an accurate result. i did all my mods at once.

for the type-s cams, i just dropped them in. if you're going with webcam or any other custom cam, then you should upgrade the springs

I can not remember if you did the install yourself or had someone do it. How hard is it to swap the cams on the J32?

you don't have to change anything but the cams. i would change the springs which comes out to like an extra $150 ($5x32). Its not really necessary because the typeS springs aren't much stiffer than the base ~ 2lbs more tense.

if you can change a timing belt, you can change the cams. first remove the upper intake, then the timing belt covers. be sure to set the engine to tdc (top dead center). remove the timing belt. remove the valve covers. remove rocker assemblies. be sure to keep them in order so you can put them back where they came from. remove camshaft access cover on back of cylinder head. hint: it faces the driver side fender. slide cams out. reverse the procedure to reinstall. don't be shy with the assembly lube. bukkake all over the cams and the rockers. reinstall and change your oil. use a conventional oil - no additives - to break in, and change oil early twice in maybe 3000 miles. thats what i did.

type-s camshafts are lighter, yet just as strong or probably stronger than the base camshafts.......thus camshaft rotation faster = increase in HP = faster engine.
