Does anyone happen to have a factory exhaust laying around they would be willing to part with for a while?

What exactly are you looking for? The stock catback setup or something before that. I replaced mine with the comptech unit shortly after I bought it and have the OEM in the attic still as I stowed it there so it wouldnt get bent or anything.

I may have one available, with the exhaust tips cut off though. If you want, you can buy it off me. Anything reasonable will do, and shipping should also be considered as I'm located in LA.

Thanks Joe. Progress is being made, a late 2007 (possible even before Christmas) release is possible at this point. No promises though.

Probably because its another one of these.....hurry up and wait threads. Hoping for the best here...but not sure I will own the car when this inevitably comes out.

Did you ever find that exhaust you needed? I just sold my complete stock exhaust to another member here on the forum. If it will get the kit produced sooner, maybe he can help? Take one for the team

Yeah, it will be FUN at first and UNIQUE with BRAGGING RIGHTS.
Traction will be your enemy though as expected but with the right MONEY and parts it can be corrected, so add serious suspension to the list + DR + possible new/or custom front axles.

HOWEVER, one is clear that your RELIABILITY will go down to toilet along with ½ (if best) INVESTMENT return when TL parted out later or traded in. And that is assuming the engine (tuning) and car lived through the final point of sale down the road.

Again, it’s my opinion, but considering the above investment/time condition it makes sense to get 335i bimmer with FULL WARRANTY and FACTORY FORCED INDUCTION (twin-turbo) for the money spent on TL + turbo kit + suspension and the rest mentioned above. It dyno 280whp/280wtq right from the factory, then if still not enough then just add two mods - PROcede/Exhaust and get 355whp/405wtq and be done with it. The PROcede (computer) takes 10min to remove so warranty won’t be and issue when there is a need to show up for service at BMW. Yet, it will blow any turbo TL in both performance and handling while the rest is an optional taste.
I know this is an old post but I couldn't agree more.

Also, guys if he wants to try to piece together a marketable kit, Im all for it! I think we don't know were doing it, but we are already shooting him down subconciously, because of our experiences. This thread is no longer relevant to the development of the kit. I'm still here though.

No longer relevant to the development of the kit? Does that mean the kit is canned?

I would assume he doesn't need to banter back and forth or dates and such while hes working on it. Kinda like Apple didn't start a forum to discuss potential buyers wants and needs on the iphone.......they just did what they knew would work.

I mean do you expect this guy to keep a picture diary of the kit being designed and built?

I asked a simple question, whether or not the kit was canned. Why you feel the need to throw in a smart a$$ comment like that is beyond me. Its forum users like you who ruin these boards.

sadly, many on the forum DO expect just that.

According to k24em2 previous post...

One would assume what lembowski posted . I believe the point of starting this thread was to see how many people were interested in a possible turbo kit for the TL.

well considering he has over 3000 posts to your 30 I dont think he is trying to ruin any boards, simply frustrated by persons who will not read far enough into the posts to find their own answer
