Post Transmission cooler?

I have a 05 AT and was wondering if it was worth getting a tranny cooler because of my addiction to the hard launch. now i dont use it alot but probably once or twice a week when im in the mood i do it. method im talkin about is when u shift into neutral and take the revs up to 4k and push the brake pedal and pul the revs up to 2.5k and releasing the brake. how much wear and tear is my tranny going thru and shud i get the tranny cooler (if there is such a thing for our car)

sigh, even when i was ur age with my TL i didnt do dumb things like this.

word of advice stop, you're not driving a civic and can just kick it around like the buck of metal it is.....this is considered a luxery car, treat it like one.

and learn to search, there are some REALLY REALLY old posts on good launch methods for an A/T

you're from STL? did you get pulled over a few days ago for having your lights too blue?

I wouldn't be worried about it getting to hot, but the damage you are physically doing by slamming it into gear. There is a tranny cooler for the TL, but it's hard to install and costly. One member, forgot his name.... but he has a GNX and also the world's unluckiest TL.... who put one on. I'll try to dig up his name....

thing is though im not slamming the car into the gear...i shift normally into D then build the revs up to 2.5k and then release the brake..this method was in one of the forums on how to launch a TL something abt the tourque converter or something like that...

blacked out TL in chesterfield? it's gotta be either Paz480's or DistortedReality.

so you're just 2 footing it? if you are, and if you're on stock breaks, dont you feel the crunch of your brakes?

and yea i guess this way is ok, tho it really isnt much of a launch lol....

Yeah I know dude, I have just been extremely busy with so much shit the past few days I haven't had much time to do anything. If the weather continues to stay like this going to see if Tommy wants to do a shoot or something this week.

Swoosh is a member on 'Zine, met him at the KC meet.

I dont know when I'll be up in STL again, maybe in the next few weeks or something, in NC right now. My car is pretty bland right now, trying to find some rims for it.

Its cool man, just waitinggggg to see them pics, did you manage to get it polished and waxed at least?

Yeah I managed to clay bar the entire car, polish, wax the car that day, including waxing and polishing the wheels. Looks good.

We had a meet a few months ago, will probably have another one this summer. I'll have to talk to Tommy on the second gen side about a meet he is pretty good about organizing one.

btw 6/22/2008 - for you STL ppl; there's a BBQ sponsored mostly by HACSTL.com - Honda & Acura Community in St. Louis - sign up on their forums to get more of the info. I met most of the core members today, and they're pretty solid, randomly decided to meet today, and had 10 cars easily. - granted most were Hondas ~ but if we ever try another AZ summer meet; they could easily double our numbers, and they're all very down to earth people.
