Hmmm... No rasp at all on my Stage 3 set-up. I can see Stage 4 being a little loud.

When I did my stage 3, I also had all 3 cats off my car so it made rasp worse. I would never recommend anythig over stage 2.

^they sound fine if you're a college student on a ramen noodle diet budget. at least 1 and 2 do.

Aaron summed it up nicely in this post...

a terrible sounding car and less money in your bank account. congratulations.
and then once you start upgrading the exhaust pieces(Jpipes and PCDs) you dont get a lovely sound any more. you get RASP, and then all these ramen noodle budget folks complain.

how much was your magnaflow res? my plan was to do stage 2, but after the shop told me it's gonna be $170 for stage 2, I just went with 4 since it's cheaper and he said it'd sound louder/better

sorry no videos and i dont have a camera lol. sad since i believe every car enthusiast should have one lol.

my magnaflow i got off amazon for like 40-50 bucks. i paid like 100 for labor+straight pipe. ( should be cheaper but it was my first mod at the time and i was just excited).

the stage 2 is definetly noticable at about 3k and on and at about 2k-3k you can hear the growl

Calm down there.

Stage mods are fine, but will show 0 performance increase.

I, personally, think they are fine, of course, if you can afford a exhaust system that would be even better.

DatDereTL you can find several exhaust systems for 600$ or less used in the BM. You can even buy the Tsudo Exhaust which is %480 brand new.

i feel you on that but i picked up a used xlr8 exhaust system for 400 bucks...then sold my oem type s exhaust for 500....sooo if theres ANYTHING you can pick up used it would be exhaust. I wouldnt really recommended buying anything used besides exhaust. Theres so much stuff on BM u shouldnt have to pay full price + shipping on exhaust.

Only cause it is a Type S exhaust would it sell that high in the BM (idiots IMO).

But anyway you gotta check the Tsudo Exhaust thread somewhere in the first or second page of Performance Parts & Modifications

I did midmuf delete and dynomax reso and I'm happy with the sound. I know it doesn't add any horsepower but I just don't give a fuck. I'm not spending 1300+ for an ATLP, or searching the BM for months on end to find a half decent deal. F that noise.

Idk... I know it's all a matter of opinion, but I haven't heard an exhaust tone that I like better than what "Stage 3" has given me. Sounds simple. Mildly aggressive. And it was relatively inexpensive in comparison to other options that I had on the table. As an owner who has no need for any additional high-end power, it fit the bill.

Nothing personal, justnspace, but utilizing the term "gay" for a simple mod is not constructive. Not to mention that it's offensive to some of us, so I will step up for the others and ask you politely to refrain from using it in your posts.

exactly how i feel about mine. if i wanted power i would have invested in a RWD car. i kept with stage 2 for the sportiness without being too aggressive and attracting too much peoples attention. I just want my car to look good and add just a tad of noise to go with it. although lately with all these turbo breakthrough numbers.....

Dam. I might throw the dynomax resonator on then. Have you ever heard 4 or any of the other stages IRL? I just wish I could hear all of them IRL and decide. And how much did it cost you?

It's actually not too raspy IRL, but I think the resonator would make it sound perfect. So... I might throw it on.

The reso was 50 shipped and the install was 135. Included in the install was quad tips, midmuf delete and reso swap. So under 200 for a little bit of sound. I'm happy.
